12g should be ok if you have short cable runs. But if your motor is expected to be loaded heavy most the time and you have long cables then a heavier wire might be advisable .

the wire would be probb 3 inches long at the most and the motor will be running at 24v with a 3kg drum so id say then 8g would be better? _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

8 gauge will be more than enough for that distance . WE pull 400 amps through it on Anhilation with about 250 mm lengths although it does get a bit warm but not enough to melt the insulation .

If you re-time it so it spins at the same rpm, just in the oppisite direction, then it'll draw the same amps. We have re-timed an EV so Hellbringer 3 would drive in a straight line and found this to be the case. _________________ Get Some!!!

I figured that with retimeing it for drive but im thinking about retimeing it for the weapon so it spins way faster then normal in one direction and retarted in the other so full forward. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

Witch one has nutral timeing? ccw or cw
And if i had a nuetral timed ev that burnt out can i use the end cap out of nuetral timed ev and put it on the odd timed one to make another nuetral one? rathen then re timeing the odd motors? _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

Neutrally timed it isn't advanced in either direction. The motor will put out the same rpm's if it was spun in either direction. So the answer is neither.
But if you retimed an EV so it was neutral then pulling the end plate off and putting it on another EV should be fine. As long as it wasn't the bit that burnt out. _________________ Get Some!!!

Aparently if i use a cw on the right and a ccw on the left it will work perfactly without retiming.
Jim used two ccw's for backlash and he sez he never noticed it.
But that was at 12-14v in my case it will be 24v wich will make more of a difference. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

the cw ev-warriors have been unavailable for over a year now so it is unlikely that yoy will find one.
As for the motors in Backlash, Jim retimed one of the ccw ev-warrors so the robot would run straight.
Hellbringer 3 also ran at 12v and at the speeds it was reaching you would definatly notice even a slight difference in the timeing of the motors. _________________ Get Some!!!
