My bot is all wired. Almost ready for a test, just charging batteries and making sure nothing will go bang
DRAW:
Scarifier vs Vertical Limits
Stevo's Bot vs Marauder
Sproing vs Hellbringer
EDIT: Argggghh. I was playing with my gyro and something went bang in the IBC. it's the SN**** chip. I also noticed some smoke coming out my reciever, it seems a little wire Andrew and I soldered in there for our aerial earthing has actually had a small strand waver onto the positive track of the RX... I think the RX might be okay, but I'm not sure if the IBC will function without the SN chip. If I remember right, the SN chip is for the relay outputs, which is wierd since the outputs weren't being used... _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

No No, Marauder vs Xain. I might not loose in the first round against a broken robot.
That is very sad for you, Aaron. Can you grab another Team Vertex robot to compete?
What type of bot are you using, Steve? _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

If the IBC still works and my RX isn't stuffed, I might turn up with the Cheese... _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

The SN7575477 chip is indeed the auxillary output driver chip.
The IBC should function without it (not including aquxillaries obviously) if you remove it from the socket and no other damage has been done to the board.
I cant see how plugging a gyro in could blow that chip, unless you did somthing nasty to the voltage rails (like plugging 24v into the aux +12v line), but I'm always amazed at the createive ways people come up with to mis-wire a controller..
If it makes you feel better, I plugged a speed controller in backwards and blew it the other day too.. fortunately it was an old tiny helicopter speed controller worth about $20 that I didnt need anywmore anyway.. Thats what you get for changing the polarity of your battery plugs around and forgetting to change that one. so as you said, everyone does it sooner or later..
The good news is that chip is worth about $4 and if fairly easily availabe. Jaycar or DickSmith might have it, otherwise, Rockby Electronics (www.rockby.com.au) definitely do and will send it to you. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. I think it was the short in the RX that caused the problem, because the onboard 7805v regulator on the IBC was pretty hot after it went bang... Also, I didn't have any of the aux wired up at the time. I didn't want the weapon firing off while I was playing with the gyro, so I unplugged them I'll try to doctor up the RX and will have another go at playing with it.
The bot won't be battling anyway, I was just out hammering things with the weapon and have stripped the gutz out of Andrew's friction clutch which protects the gears and EV from shock loads. So now the motor does 4000+rpm for about 2 seconds before the shaft heats the rubber up enough for the hammer arm to gracefully fly over.... The first few hits I got before breaking the clutch were cool though _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

I'm spending today water-proofing the arena shed roof (only a couple of leaks)
Rain won't be an issue anymore (once I've done those jobs this week).
We should be OK. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

As much as I would like to believe that Philip, it just ain't true. No IBC and No radio gear for the Cheeze means no combat. But..... QLD Ranked #1 Vertical Limits will be there to share the pain, while last rounds winner, Sproing will be there to show you all how to win without violence, by superior control and tactics. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

That was a poor attempt at comedy. Old men are allowed to make lame jokes. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
