hardcore machinery for sale
check this out... thought huge old machinery junkyards where only in the US? well check this thing out. reminds me of the places the mythbusters always go to.
Apart from the big stuff, they have a bunch of welders, Power tools and raw stock - I plan on coming away with at least an oxy welding rig and a big angle grinder, perhaps some raw materials too.
Would anyone like to come along? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

lol well it is an auction after all, and ive watched a few episodes of bargain hunt so if it comes to a one on one buy-off then you stand no chance but seriously looking on their site it doesnt look like theyve got any sticks, just some migs tigs and oxys. (and a plasma cutter... jake )

Hard to say - a an average one without many accessories should be hard to give away, while a kitted out one with good hoses could go a few hundred. Just remember that Oxy is THE cheapest form of welding and its good for most things except aluminium (and even that's not impossible). Oxy is also good for heating large chuncks of metal to bend it.
I will find the prices of some new stuff so we know what's reasonable to bid; I wouldn't go over 50% of new and it amuses me when I see on-line auctions go over retail . Wait for the catalogue as they only list the larger items on the web site.
That Brobo saw is a choice item, they are something like +2K when new. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

A plasma cutter would be nice .. they will cut through almost any material that will cary a current ..not neat but effective they were used at a sugar mill i used to work at for cutting throuigh 3 inch thick blocks of tungsten that the shreder hammer tips were made from .

From what i've learnt its spark erroders that arn't neat. I've seen some pretty awsome plasma cut stuff, it was very accurate! lol but then again i'm still probably one of the youngest on this forum lol! _________________ ( •_•)
going through 3" of material small hand held ones would probbly be getting pretty dodgy. At "oxycut" where we got our stuff done they were cutting 12" plate or so and pretty fine at that. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

Sounds like we had better buy that plasma torch and mount it on a CNC table _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

yes well they would cut neat if mounted on some sort of table type thing .. this one was hand held so the cuts wernt that neat but it could slice through tough material prety quick

thats what oxycut has. ;->
putting the plasma cutter into a CNC 2 axis table is pretty common it seems, most people put them on their mills (with suitablle underlay) to hack stuff out, then finish it up by machining, but if your just going to weld it anyway then theres no point, just weld it it'll be <.5mm anyway _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets
