Winners pogs

Just a thought that came to me while reading the RFL forum. Why don't we have winners pogs.

Maybe someone at each event can bring along some of the shinny stars they used to give out at primary school and give one to each winner of a fight. Builders can then stick them on their robots as kill markings. Maybe red stars for beating a queenslander, bulue for NSW, yellow for a victorian, ect.... I do have records for every fight in Australia. Of corse stars can get knocked off or damaged.

Anyone else got some other ideas?

Just sounds like fun.

Funnily enough, thats something Mel was working on, but we didnt quite get time to finish prior to the last Victorian Round. Yet another thing to organise for an event.. Rolling Eyes

Actually, I think its quite a good idea, and we have some prototypes in the works for the big yearly RoboWars event.

Mel found quite a novel and economical metal base to start with, now we're looking at a way of printing on them, I'm wondering about the cost of Screen-Printing or maybe just a rubber ink Stamp with a logo and "win" printed on it or something. Either that or maybe some getting some stickers printed to stick to the metal base.

Anyone have any suggested attributes they think a pog should have ?

Besides a 'bot kill' marker, any chance of another for 'bot destroyed' .....kind of a special marker for really nasty destruction of another bot ?

...just a thought...

Just one other thought...when you win could you receive two pogs, one for sticking to the bot, and another for display purposes?

The pog for most destruction caused after an opponent has been incapacitated should be applied with an eighteen pound sledge hammer.

LOL!
You should get them made out of that metalic plastic with a peelable sticky back, simmiler to those small "no smoking" signs and the like. Smile Don't know where you'd get some printed up though... Confused

we should have those too, any robot that blows up should get one Very Happy

winner pogs are a fine idea, it lets everyone know how old the bot is or how successful it was etc just at glance.

a pog need not just say "winner" or something tacky. maybe a really cool looking symbol that can be like the old kill markings on ww2 aircraft. i know i wouldnt mind a few of these bad boys strapped onto my bot Very Happy

not suggesting using the whole german star thing (no im not a nazi lol.....) but just as a general guide to what i was thinking regarding the cool looking symbols.

oh yeah and for reference heres what a BB pog looks like to those who havent seen em.

We should have a symbol comp to see who can come up with the best symbol for robowars wins, then stick it on the pogs! Very Happy I'm game!

gotta keep it in perspective too, they actually have to be able to made in pretty large numbers and you wouldnt want them to cost alot either.

conversly you could just elect to remove a piece of your opponents robot as a trophy after each fight hehe

dude i seem to remeber me saying some where back that we could have matches like that and that brett replied that they had thought of it but wasn't worth it to keep parts off other robots.

besides taking someones ibc or simmilar is just going to cause alot of angst between people and people are going to get into the sport just for revenge and not for the fun,and it could ruin the experances of the newbies to have the most expencive part of there robot "taken" by the winner.

i know it would be a big blow to my budget if i lost something major outta my bot

doesnt mean like that dude

just old school tradition in battlebots that if u break a part fo another persons bot and the person doesnt need it he can choose to give it to u as a trophy

Say jolt hits orbits bar and the bars completely mangled beyong repair or he cracks pulley in half etc from itm thatd be a trophy to him as i wouldnt need it because he broke it.

Not like i lose a match so i MUST give a part away, its completely voluntary
