While we are talking Lip batteries, I found this site today:
http://www.rclipos.com/
. They have big-brand packs at far lower prices than the RMP, Tower Hobbies etc, I worked out that the pack I wanted was almost $100 USD cheaper, plus another $30 saved on shipping. I don't know how reliable they are, but at those prices, I might have to try them out.

@ Cell damage. Don't forget that their cases have reversed polarity to normal cells! That is, the nipple is negative, and case is positive. _________________ ( •_•)

It's happened to so many people dude.
@nick, those prices are good, but some of the platinum hobbycity ones are still better... what packs are you eyeing? If they're polyquest, i can give you the price I see on hobbycity. _________________ ( •_•)

hahaha thankfully 99% of everything designed to work with a123 is reverse protected. what made them make the cells that way is mind boggling.. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

@ Angus: I would probably go for the Poly RC PQ-5000XQ-6S Li-Poly Battery. Its not listed at Hobbycity for some reason

just be careful cause the cells are opposite polarity to the normal nicads. they solder pretty easy just have lots of heat (80w plus iron) _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Try putting a grinding bit (one of the little pink stone balls) in a dremel and scuffing up the end of the cell. They should solder fine then.
and yes, Balancer wiring does matter, and is balancer-dependant _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people
