You probably already tried it, but I find the trick of using another cordless drill with it's torque set up high gets some stuck screws out - the clutch's release action hammers them loose. If you still can't get the screws out, I can lend you an impact wrench that will get anything free.

On the other hand, just return the drills for an exchange...

BTW: now you have the longer shafts, would you like flats milled in the shaft for a spanner?

those ones are bastards for getting out, i just had to clamp it in a vice and stick a drill in there and lean on it really hard..

sugest that you cut a slot for a flathead screwdriver in the screw when you get it out.

Dose anyone know what the 2 speed ozitos are like and are the gearboxes any better or the same as a xu1 only with and extra stage on it and how much are they to buy?

Allso dose anyone know what the 2 speed 14v ruobies are like if they have a atached shaft to screw a wheel onto without the kneed of bearings?

I would get some dewalts if i could just screw a wheel onto them and not kneed a bearing.

I want something with a bigger motor and better gearbox but one with a gearbox that has the front of it made like a xu1 so it dosent kneed a bearing and you can put a wheel right on it and allso still use nicks mounts like the ozitos.

Depending on how much the ozitos are i was looking at some $50 ryobi 2 speed drills and hoping they have a xu1 front.

Maby ill buy one and open it and if it isnt what i want take it back with a wire off and say its fualty

As far as i know there is an attachment which is availiible from the RMP that allows the use or the same drill sharft thread like only other drill you can buy . The only downside is i think you need to support it at the other side

Hey guys, so many questions.
Firstly what ever happened to Mr Waydes Ozito campaign.
Cant really vouch for Ozitos as have not used them b4.

The shaft that RMP sells is basically the same thing as found on the Ryobis.
I modified this shaft to fit in the angle grinder but it can be used for other mounting methods.

@Tim The Ryobis I use are 7.2 volt drills with one of the largest gear boxs I have found, It easily can hold up to a 600 speed motor butt eventually will be going to dewalts. Actually would rather go Milwaukee as I have discovered that the motors in their drills have over 2 times the torque of the 24 volt dewault hammer drill but doesnt llok like they are availbale.

In general guys 2 speed gearboxs are made to handle a lot more torque than singles but trick is to make sure it does not disingage gears in battle.
Its really handy to test drive train by putting gearbox in nuetral and spinning the wheels to see what resistance they have but.

Would be interested to see if Ryobis still have these gearboxes inside.
They have a few model numbers but heres one I still have.

HBD750R - Its 7.2 volt with speeds of 300 and 850 rpm

Another interesting tidbit is that the difference in gear ratios in 2 speed drills is generally the same as an angle grinder.
eg I usually run in high speed 850 then run it throught the angle grinder 2,7 which takes it back to low speed 300 rpm.

Had idea once to use 4 of these gear boxes, 2 in high speed with angle grinders and 2 in low speed to end up with the same speed on all 4 wheels but with a layot suited for an axle bot.

I saw them at kmart the ryobi ones.

I want a 2 speed motor that has the same front end as a xu1 basicly so maby all the 2 speed ozitos are like that as long as they arent hammer drill as if they are hammer drill they have a diff end on them to fit the hammer mech inside and you kneed a bearing.

So if thats what the ryobis you have are like then what is the ozito one like?

NOt sure what the front of an XU1 is like but the 2 speeds Ozitos dont have a seperate output shaft. THey do have an extended length on the output making it suit wheels I guess.
INternally the second stage use 2mm pins but the third use 3mm with larger gears.
Very common to see 2 speed boxs with gears getting larger as they go throught the stages.
Some brand products use a lot of plastics as well.
