confirm time?

Hi,

I've gotten my wires crossed because the last Sidetracked event was at 6pm.

Can you confirm that the July 16th event is 12pm? I'm moving house during the day and could have made the evening. Hey - we need more time to prepare anyway!

Builders Meeting

The next builders meeting has been confirmed for Sunday 3rd July @ Sidetracked . Meeting starts at 12pm (in the Holodeck room) till approx 5pm or so - however builders are welcome to stay on for as long as they wish.

Round 3 - Vic Series - 16th July - 12noon till 6pm @ Sidetracked Yes this series is an earlier time set than previous ones.

We look forward to meeting with our new Victorian builders! For those of you who have not attended Sidetracked before - this venue has food and drinks available to purchase. Homebaked scones with cheese, jam and cream options will be supplied.

Travel to the venue is possible via train - as the station ( Huntingdale) is located nearby. Any builders needing transport, should post for assistance.

That knocks us out, but I'll try to get some of the students to get up there to observe. If we get the rest of our brains finished they might bring the bot up for a test drive, but not compete.

I look forward to hearing all about it.

Good luck to all the builders.

Sorry to hear that.. Sad

It was decided to move the start time earlier so we didnt end up finishing at 11pm again.

Now that we arent trying to fit "around" bookings for the party room at SideTracked, we will most likely be starting all future events at this time..

It should allow some more time for a pizza and chat/recap/grudge matches afterwards.. Smile Also, that way the audience doesnt have to hang on until the late hours to see who won

Hey don't worry about it!

It sounds more sensible to have it in the afternoon anyway. Certainly would make it easier for us to travel back at 6pm instead of 11pm. Just happens to clash with moving house - and I'm the staff member supervising the students and driving them up. I've email them and I'm sure a few will try to get up to observe. They loved the little video clips I shot from the last Sidetracked event. They are hooked.
From a school point of view it helps us if we know that future events are at this time too because we have to fill in the forms for an excursion weeks in advance. So if we know that some events date and time is fixed 3-4 weeks ahead then it's dead easy. Of course that may not always work well with the nature of your comps - we completely accept that - these events aren't targeted at schools (that's what botbash etc are for). We'll get involved when ever we can.

See you,

Doug & Bellarine SC team

And thanks for the scones Mel and the whipped cream and jam.

Yes smoke came out of both sides of me drive and it was cool. Wasnt really concerned about it for some reason but after having just taken the motor out it became clear that my pinion gears where slipping and the smoke was burnt epoxy from the shaft spinning so all good but just means I still have to find a better solution.
Good to see the dawning of a new drum bot/ new team and was good to catch up with everyone and also beat up Tims robot again Cool
