as far as my concern stretches if you can lie and tell the markers what they want to hear then you can do well at school. book smart and common sense are two totally different things... ive got one but i wish i had the other lol Crying or Very sad

i always thought about if you could make a robot battery out of some smoke detectors... but youd need something like 12kg of the americium stuff to make it happen dagnabit

also watched a show on companies who made real flying saucers the other week as well that had some guy who basically made a coil out of no 30 wire and 220 turns of it, plugged it into US wall power and it just jumped up into the air perfectly hovering off the ground. still fascinated by that.

[brett temporarily lowers it again Wink]

Actually I would say the presence of any significantly noticeable breasts about the place usually *lowers* the apparent intelligence level of any men present.. Laughing

[Raising the focal point of conversation upwards about 30cm again]

I.Q. is purely a measure of how intelligent the people who wrote the test think you are.

In our society, pattern recognition, mathematics, english literacy and logic are all valued skills and hence IQ tests are naturally biased heavily in that direction.

However, grab any high-IQ genius from your local Mensa club and dump him in the outback with a comparitively "low-IQ" (according to our society) uneducated aboriginal and see who's dead and who's still alive after a week.. Now who's the intelligent one ?

Or get a geeky harvard math professor, and a stereotyped blonde bimbo cheerleader and put them both at a party where instinctive socialising skills are more valueable than an understanding of indeterminancy thereom's and see who spends the night talking to the wall..

Its all just a matter of whether you can fit into your present environment well or not. Wink

Well, I'll bet Carmen Electra was getting paid more than most of the bot-builders on BattleBots were, and it sure wasn't for her witty reportoire.. Wink
So I guess they can be just as valuable as brains if used in the right way.. Wink

Dont worry Tim and Aaron, Mel wouldn't punch anyone out for appreciating the beauty of the female form, as long as its done in a tasteful, elegant manner - and no, its not possible for ones tongue to hang out in an elegant manner Razz

I suppose I really should set a better example and encourage more intellectual discussions amongst the builders.. Rolling Eyes I think the boob thing's been done to death, should we raise the tone to meet the more cerebral level of the average australian and move on to fart jokes now ? Laughing

Hey, if its good enough for Jaycar Electronics to apparently base an entire product range on, then it must suit the mind-set of their market..
