Very jealous! Over here, the 636 costs $579, which is about 340 euro.

If you have a LiPoDaptor, it's not a proplem Wink Just run it in NiCD mode...

The extra amperage for charging NiCD/NiMH is a bonus, charge times might come down 5-10mins.

Just out of curiosity, what happens if those Dewalt Cells do go bang on you? Do you have enough space for the 15 cells of 2400? Confused

Depends on what you want.

Value for Money, the Swallow chargers with a built in AC power supply so you can run it directly off 240v for $130 look pretty good..
http://www.hobbymodelwarehouse.com.au/

In the 12v powered range (you will need a big 12v supply or battery to run them),

The E-Staion Chargers http://wattsuprc.com.au/product_list.asp?cid=10 have a cheaper ($150) model that is good, and the top-end models ($350) with all the bells and whistles.

In the mid-range, the Triton is a good (~$200) charger, and some of the the Astro-Flights are easier-to-use with more power (cells and peak current), but slightly more expensive.

The usual rule applies..

Good, Fast, Cheap.
Pick any *two*
Wink

all it needs to do is charge 18v in a reasonal time for battle. althogh Swallow only does 14 cells and 18v is 15 cells so i dont think it could cope with my drill baterys which im using untill a group buy of good cells comes along or i get desperate enough. but thats the same as the e station. i could probably take apart the drill baterys and remove a cell from each and do it that way.
swallow sounds good enough for me saves the 12v supply

Since I havn't seen it mentioned anywhere here I thought that maybe no-one has noticed that the Tritons are no longer available. The Triton 2 is the new model with a new back-lit screen, more robust and raised control knob, banana jack 12V input ports and it can now output up to 7A compared to the old Tritons 2.5A. All for the same price ($125US = $156AU)! And for those wanting something cheaper you should also check out the Triton Jr. Same as the old one but nearly half the price ($80US = $100AU).
And the new Triton ZX will be available soon. With a larger colour screen and and two output ports I want one! ($240US = $305AU)
