The more light the better the video basically..
At Sidetracked, we use 2 sets of those garage dual work lights (a total of 4 light sources) that are supposedly 500 watts each, for a total of 2,000 watts of lighting, and I would say that is "sufficient". Another 1 of them probably would be a bit better..
You can get them from Bunning's for about $20 each. - one tip we've discovered, *dont* mount them on the walls that the bots will be crashing into.. the shock while they're hot and operating will blow the globes like crazy. We went through 6 globes at the first event we used them at, and none at the last one were we hung them from the roof instead..
Video Cameras will handle brighter lighting better than dim lighting, so I dont think its that easy to go "too bright" since they will juyst reduce the exposure time to compensate. Also, bright lighting inside the Arena improves the visibility through the polycarb windows, since it reduces the effect of external lighting reflecting off the outside.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas.
