Any new people coming jeff?
Also, does anyone have a failsafe that i could borrow/buy for this event? I just can't really afford $43 right this minute lol. _________________ ( •_•)
sorry and atrax will be there, atrax is now wallop proof and sadly weaponless but running at 15.5 v with plenty of ram power just to test the magnet technology a certain robot is now adopted
sorry has also being fitted with the new wallop proof armour and all is looking good .........found the reason sorry misbehaved in the final last event as well ,seems a solder broke inside the battery pak so i had only 1 drive ....just one of those things
i am interested in what jeff j has been upto maybe another spinner ???? ,so a spinner v spinner is gonna happen at last
the sad thing is we have a heap of spinners and a heap of anti spinners doesnt do much for development does it ?
is it true that glen and cobra might not be competing [not happy jan]???
has jeff f got that spinner organised yet ??
and did anybody get the plan b vs sorry battle on video at the last round ? _________________ Photos - http://community.webshots.com/album/154092733uokpXC

Ah yes.. the usual "Guns vs Armour" battle, or in bot terminology, the "Spinner vs Brick" phenomenon.
One suggestion to try and even the playing field that we have adopted is the moveable barrels inside the arena.
They give the more fragile (non brick) robots something they can use driving skills to dodge behind, push into the spinners to take the brunt of the impact and hopefully encourage the spinner drivers to learn to drive appropriately to avoid this rather than just spin up and then sit there waiting to be attacked.
On the spinners side, it gives them something lightweight and easily damageable to belt around and impress the judges without having to chew the opponent into pieces after disabling them, so its spectacular for them and the audience as well..
Highly reccomended if you think things are progressing a bit too far down the spinner vs brick path, it does get boring if the more unusual designs get discouraged because of the destruction they have to either armour up to deal with, or else join the dark evil spinner side and hope they dont have to fight each other.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Nah, I never find guns vs armour boring - I can't imagine what you mean ! Just as long as the obstacles don't weigh much more than a bot and are low enough not to hide a robot moving behind them, then I don't have a problem. how about a tyre or two? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I think a tyre could be a little heavy.... It will not be able to be pushed very well because it will grip the floor.
maybe something screwed onto the underside of the tire so it slides easily...

Not as long as you're holding the gun.. I'm sure its lots of fun from that end..
Maybe not so much fun for those who have to carry the armour around to defend against it, or else forgoe the armour and try and builder a bigger gun and see who can draw first..
The British supposedly used to work on the "Everyone in a line on the open exposed field and fire on my command !" principle. At least until they tried to fight the Indians who had the sense to take pot-shots from behind a tree rather than seeing who ran out of men first in an "honourable" shoot out..
Funny how history repeats itself.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

Glen & Chris: I know they were posted, but I cannot find the new dates we decided on for the next few events. Could you please let me know or update the official calendar thread? Thanks... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Sounds good, I will paint on a red line ASAP
Have we standardised on a 9am start from now on? The last event went very smoothly with the early start and Bort's amazing organisational skills. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion
