Marayong XI

Don't know if that's the title people are opting for, but if you want to change it, tell me!

Though I know it's just a little early, there's heaps of changes taking place at marayong so fast that i thought we should sort them out good and early.
First;
>Allocated match times, not "when your ready", if your not, byebye!
>Weigh ins before the comp starts, for all you guys going on what i said i weighed, i could have been overweight, but noone bothered to check! (i wasn't though, 7.4kg minus fence wire.)
>Predraw. This has been recently thought of, and it think it probably wouldnt work, 'cause then people could have heaps of time to adapt their bots, and it's funner (i think) to be there when it happens. Maybe leave it as is.

My thoughts;
<prizes: I was thinking that the entry money, now that the arena's basicaly finished, could be used for various prizes. It would a alittle more competition into the fights (eg, i wouldn't have freed el b if there was a prize, but then again, i didn't want to be slaughtered by plan b...). People with useless things lying around their garage could contribute too!
< IC engines. There was an interesting conversation about those intruiging internal combustion engines, and how we would mod the arena to fit them, but die to the huge probs professionals seem to have with them stalling, i don't we'll be worrying about it anytime soon.
<Arena hazards. Don't you hate thinking that you need an active weapon to even have a chance at winning? That's what i've had going through my head the last few weeks. Now, i'm not proposing we stick hammers and flame pits in, i'm just suggesting that a simple pit wouldn't go astray at giving bricks a chance against bots like plan b.

Thanks

Very Happy [/u]

i think the money goes towards the arena and food and stuff and jeff in general (with the massive electrical bills and all).

prizes would be kewl but facing the facts i doubt there will be any lest we get a sponsor to throw them at us or i can just go and get a few hundred kilos worth of steel from the dumpster Razz

with ICE engines you need ventilation in the arena, as the exhaust going off in that enclosed arena will gas you out in a big way, although im sure jeff would appreciate a fan system after those summer build days Laughing

Actualy, that steel idea isn't bad, but don't stop there... I think it would be so cool if that junk pile at jeffs was filled with peoples offcuts, old bikes etc. So if you're desperate, a quick rumenge may save you from total oblivion! Smile

Jolt will be there with a few small improvements - IF - I can get the IBC fixed in time Sad It sounds like Jason is a bit snowed under and we only have 4 weeks.

Well, cataclysm's working like a charm with it's new micro's, so i'll be there no probs with a few added features. Very Happy i'll also try to haul sebastian along (he really wanted to come last time). I SO want him to build a bot!
Also, who was offering me that thick fencing wire? The event's all fuzy to me! Very Happy That would be most helpful if they brought it along! Very Happy

ok, it seems i'll be going by train... unless anyone lives around this side of sydney, it would be way easier! if not, i'll still need a pickup from the station. Jeff, which is closest? blacktown, marayong or quakers hill? Confused
