The particular weapon fitted to it is for tyer cutting not for smashing things. Typical Sydney sider only way of winning is smashing things.. -.-'

While it might be contrary to visual spectacularness, Applying energy in an intelligent manner to vulnerable points is a far more effective way of fighting than butting your head against a brick wall and expecting to win. Wink

Upping the hitting power is all very well, as long as you dont mind dealing with the kickback yourself (ie, rebuilding the robot after every fight). Why break your knuckles on someones face, when a punch in the solar plexus will put nearly anyone on the ground with one hit ?

Newtons law of action and reaction applies to robots too.. especially when they are the same weight.

Squidgy wheels? Hmmm; Yes I suppose it will work on them too. It was those expensive, tiny, 3 inch cholsons or whatever they are called that we had in mind for chopping up; you know the ones; sometimes found hanging out the back of a certain bar spinner. Very Happy

Come on Tim, You checked out Bender at the builders meeting, how come you have waited this long to lodge a complaint? O I get it, well moving right along, hope you have some spares or I can bring you a few red wheels just in case. Smile

You have nothing to fear anyhow according to Aaron; he reckons the bar isn’t spinning quick enough and Unco reckons it wont cut your armour and I have to agree with that. Smile

Bender had a troubled debut; catching fire, killing his gear motor, relay, wiring harness, Sanyo pack and from the way he is behaving now his radio or IBC might not be totally happy either. Sad

Also the threatened spinner invasion turned into a bit of a damp squib, Sad Bender was configured in anti Jolt mode but didn’t and up fighting any spinners as there weren’t enough to go round, Reboot fluked the spinners fighting Cyclonite and ending up fighting Vertical limits twice but that belongs in Reboots thread.
Planers rumoured plan b alli or drum bot ended up being a 4WD box full of belts and pullies. Can’t wait for a Jolt Cyclonite fight though, not sure if I would wont to be too close when it happens; could end up with holes in the shed. Smile

The full can of coke spilt into Bender's TX might have something to do with some of the glitching on the second day. Confused

What are the dive motors in Bender? They look like small windscreen wiper motors and I found one in a box at the event and it seemed really light. Any clues to where to find them?

TN-TM Magna electric window motor. They were too slow on 12 cells; we ran them on 22 cells at Robowars but the new weapon motor kept blowing relays so we backed the voltage right off for Brisbane. Smile

Just prepping Bender for the next event; found why he wasn’t running right, thought at the time radio problem so throwing $ at problem and going for DX6.

Probably should have looked at him first. Rolling Eyes

One of the drive motors has both the field magnets unglued and poling out as in rubbing on the armature.

There is a blemish on the outside of the motor as if it’s been hit with an axe; wonder how that might of happened? Smile

Originally there was a pollycarb panel there for protection but while trimming things to make the weight limit that was left off.

Upgrade to M1’s will fix that.

Hey, when will Bender & Jolt get to fight? You built Bender specially to take on Jolt and it's been about two years now without a showdown Smile

I thought Jolt was retired. Razz

We can bring him for the 7th of the 7th for a grudg match if you are game, was hoping to have Badger going for Matt to compete with in the actual Battelshed event.

Its about time Reboot and Jolt have a fight too, was hoping to have the new MiniMower going for Rob but were running out of time for that its still just a POP.

If the new weapon bar and teeth have arrived, its all on! I can reassemble Jolt's electronics easily enough and the rest is mostly still intact.

Well the Jolt fight didn’t happen this time. Sad

Bender was running on its new M1 batteries and Spectrum and ran reliably.

Just hammered Benders disc straight.

Reboots wedge managed to bend it as it was being ripped off. Smile

Apart from a couple of M6bolts sheered off that help hold the tire Armour on and a couple of broken teeth I think that’s it for bender.
