looks like i'm going to be tied up on sunday sorry guys perhaps we can work something else out.
(btw for serious welding its best for us if we do it here, otherwise we have to cart the gas bottle around and that probbly weighs about as much as glen and is somewhat more fragile, (regulators and such))

Hey glen, the train from town hall takes about 45mins, and i'd be at townhall to catch either the 9;29 or 9;59 train to BLACKTOWN station, and either the 4;51 or 5;05 back. Smile

Well, it was alot of fun! Couldn't sign in last night though, but sms'd glen. I, truely, am REALLY scared.....of about 50% of marayongs bots...! Though andrew, orbit wouldn't do much against angled steel wedges. but geez... that bike was almost cut in two. Glen, can you post the video's? Don't forget to edit out all the good stuff, so you see orbits wheels falling of about 5 times... Very Happy

oh it was only twice, maybe 3 times it fell off. Need to threadlock or loctite the wheel and left hand screw on thats for sure.

ALso Angus, if the bar cant do it i also have a wedge so watch out. Ill try and make it lower like what Nick did last event but if not itll be able to wedge cobra and plan b still which r the ,ain two i am worried about as with Jolt of course.

Alrighty then! Very Happy
I reacon there should be an orginized build day in about 3 weeks. I would benefit from it greatly, and it's always fun seeing bots and builders in a non-compeditive context (although i must admit ALL the comps i've been at, i've gotten SO much help from everyone). This is what i'll need help with;
>Drill trigger control (only one motor needed, maybe there's some way to beef them up?)
>Motor and axle mounting, I was planning to do what andrew did for his yr 12 thing, but i think it's alittle fragile and hard to do accuratly. For roadkill v1 i might just do what jeff did with the axebot, and use wood on metal bearings Very Happy

id like a builders meeting too. would be a nice think as i havent been to one in a while.

regarding your drive setup. get one of those cheap hand trolleys. they come with a huge 250mm pnuematic wheel which has a bearing built in and comes with a shaft that fits perfect.

im sure we could drill the sprocket to fit on the wheel easily and mounting the shaft wont be hard. we can do what nick did for orbit and use two blocks of metal or plastic to hold the shaft from sliding and and put two bolts in there to stop the shaft itself rotating.

i want to get kangs radio working as well Smile
