I'm wondering if anyone happens to have the dimensions of the 100watt scooter motors from Oatleys. I have just bought a set and would like to draw them up in Rhino 3D, but of course, the motors haven't arrived yet and I'm inpatient and want to get designing
Also, if anyone has the diamensions of the belts and pulley, that would be great too
Have put up these dimensions before so the answer to your question is the specs are on the Oatley site that you ordered them from.
The only tricky part is that they are written in English. _________________ Bots that do not destroy you, only make you stronger.

Thank you George for the over dose of sarcasm , will ensure I return a dose back someday . Does anyone know the spacing of the mounting bolts and the sizes of the pullies. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Youre welcome buddy, excuse my misdirected frustration, it should have been aimed at someone else.
Just to make ammends have measured these holes and they look like they are about 35.5mm aprt. so draw a perfect triangle and space the centre of the holes by that much. _________________ Bots that do not destroy you, only make you stronger.

Roboteers are the most helpful people.

Yes we are! PM me your email address and I will send you a cad of the bolt circle you need. I can do AutoCad or most other 2D formats. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Hey Nexus, I took that as Nick being genuine. You came through with the measurements for Aaron. Good on you.

Okay, I'm back with some more questions Has anybody stalled the scooter motors to find out what current they stall at? I know the Oatley site says 6amps, but I want to know if it is correct or if it is much higher then that.
Main reason I want to know is I'm thinking about getting some 1800-2000mAh NiMH packs and I would like to go as smaller cell capacity as possible to make my packs lighter and cheaper. But I still want to run the full length of the battle with out getting voltage drop.
Ok Elvis, will share my unconfirmed thoughts.
The 6 amp rating is presumedly max power which max power is usually achieved when half of top speed is achieved.
Also MAx power is generally half stall torque so my guess would be that the 100 watt motors would stall at 12 amps.
Wish I could confirm this as I would like to know for sure.
With those num, bers the guess would be that the 300 watts would stall at just over 30 amps.
I get my batterys warm with 2x 250 watt motors so it sort of makes sence as at max power they would be wanting over 30 amps from the battery and at stall it would be over 60.
So would batterys get warm with 40 amps being pulled from them? probably
These are estimates only. _________________ Bots that do not destroy you, only make you stronger.

Nick, if your reading this, can you stall one of your scooter motors on your meter and give me a reading please from a 24v Battle pack? _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

You can use any voltage to find your stalled resistance using Ohm’s Law, v=IR, and then recalculate current with your intended voltage.

Voltage and current are easy to work with but resistance is futile _________________ Bots that do not destroy you, only make you stronger.

LMAO, thats the worst electrical pun EVER, George!
I will strap one of those motors down and measure the current & voltage. My reading of the 6A figure on the Oatley site was the current @24v and no load. I would be surpirsed if the stall current on these motors was under 20A. The test will tell all... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion
