I use a ukrobotics.com drill mod kit. If you can find someone with a miller, they're pretty easy to make.

I had a wheel hub made up that will screw directly on to the drill, and a counter sunk hole in the end for the reverse threaded screw to lock it on.

But then I did have a uniqu setup for my wheels.

im still having problems keeping the wheels on often as well.

my wheels have a custom thread and they rarely unscrew, but its the bastard left hand thread that keeps loosening up.

recently i had one screw INTO the wheel so tight that it literally crushed the head of the screw.

so with kang im using red wheels on it (budget bot it is) and just super glueing the hubs onto the shafts and then they wont move EVER again.

alas i still cant figure out how to stop the left hand threads from unscrewing..

to stop screws coming undone, use 222 loctite.

or for buget bots nail polish.

Now don't go knocking your mothers or sisters nail polish off.
I'm sure they will have a bottle that they don't use any more,

so ask.

i was a bit hesitant at using loctite, i used it on an old robot and i had to drill the screw out when i had to change the wheel.. but now im happy with the wheels i think ill just have to do that.

is there a loctite that will stop the screw coming out, but will let me take the screw out as well.. i think i used the blue coloured flavour of loctite before.

OT and p.s. - hey brett next time you have IG mk 2's drive system out do you reckon you could snap a photo of it? i was trying to shove me head into the bot at robowars to get a look at the counter weight and everything lol.

Cos it was the only one with crap all locktight on it Very Happy

The others had a good amount on them and they didnt come undone but eaven if they did the hubs still wouldent of come off as it took me about 4hrs to get all 4 off one time with a hammer and pliers Laughing

I have been using loctite products for over 15 years with very good results.

222 Loctite is the only type you should be using for the reverse threaded screw in the drill motors.

The biggest trick in getting them to work correctly is making sure the screw is clean of all oil or grease as well as the threaded hole the screw is going into..

the next trick is, do not put just a pin prick on to the thread.
You need to be able to see the loctite flow around the thread.

This doesn't mean drown the screw. Just enough that the loctite can be clearly seen in the thread of the screw...

That is all I have to say about that..

my method is considerably more simple. All i do is tighten them up REAL tight and do the same after every battle. I hae never had any problems with Sharpshooter since i have been doing this
