Up the ante

i was sitting back playing the nintendo( cause im BORRRED ) and thought wouldn't be cool as an extra challange for expert bot builders to go in to a match and fight till the battery's run out or till they are disabled but if both robots are run out of power a quick battery change and you back into it.
also you could do whatever gets flung, hit, cut, belted or just plane falls off goes to the winner.

anyhow just a thought

A comon thought, but not usually that exciting in practice, since it usually results in a boring Armoured BMW (Batteries Motors Wheels) Box fight where they just bonk into each other until their batteries go flat..

Robots built for defense (survivability) and endurance (batteries) usually have very little on the offense side of the weight equation.

ah true but insted of just having a defensive bot againsted an attacking bot you have a class set up so that attackers only take on attacking bots.
Defensive bots could have an angle grinder or saw of some description in the arena so that they could cause some damage to each other.

the idea of racing robots around the go kart track was fairly good who knows wa might get behind it and create the first robot wacky racers
(i liked the idea)

I had a similer thought, because you could fit standard rc cars with blow torches, or spikes, or blades. etc. It would put a new spin on "no rules, just race, and win!" But I need to concentrate on just one thing atm. Smile

as for the run the bots till they die, weve sorta done it, the fights just suck when the batteries go flat. theres really no point if the hits with the power of two flys hitting each other head on :p

and honestly im not to flash on that idea anyway after blowing up over 4 motors now and surely killed a few SLAs in those sort of matches.
