Can also try http://imageshack.us/. Just uploads file, and don't need a login or anything.

Looks like a useful little tool.

Just fitted a LED to Small Hadron Collider. Now both it and Fire Ant are ready to go.

Had some good and bad luck at the event.

Small Hadron Collider picked up an intermittent problem in the finals. There is a puffy battery. It was also going more slowly than it should. SMC has used 130 mAh 40 C batteries. I might switch to 160 mAh. The cutting board frame could also be replaced by aluminium to help carry away heat.

Fire Ant had some good luck with some close judges decisions to go through the day undefeated. It does not require any repairs.

Might gut SHC for parts to get Echo going. Tried to use my last Baby O but I am not having any luck programing it.

Haven't done anything much since the Nationals. Made one pair of wheels in two months. Have been getting plenty of hours at work so I can't complain too much about not having time for robots.

This is the basic layout I am thinking of.

It is a blatant rip off of Fire Storm's shape.

Took Stig and Fire Ant to Jonathan's ant weight event on Sunday. They both were beaten by Jonathan. Stig needs a new linkage between the servo arm and the lifter. Fire Ant needs a drop of glue on one wheel.

Aussie Battler was pulled apart last week. It had a fault back in June (the last event I attended}. The servo that worked the weapon micro switches had become caught behind one of the switches. The Rx would loose power when the servo stalled. AB is getting a full rebuild either as a grabber or front hinge lifter. The mechanical switches will be replaced. The Sabretooth is being upgraded to BotBitz ESCs.

I intend to be ready for the Nationals if ants and/or sportsmen robots are involved.

Started to rebuild Aussie Battler. I want it to comply with the sportsmen rules. Here is a comparison.

The Sabretooth ESC is being replaced with BotBitz ESCs.

The weapon trigger will be replaced. It was a servo hitting micro switches. I am going to try a RC switch. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__46040__Turnigy_Receiver_Controlled_Switch.html

The weapon is a grabber lifter powered by a car seat linear actuator.

So back to building robots.

Wired in the second speedo and a gyro yesterday. When the radio was turned off, the motors sat still for 3 seconds then one went flat out. Guess the gyro had better come out.

All of my radio gear has been lightened for ant weights. Everything has its leads and pins cut off so all joints are soldered. It is a bit painful to change things around.

Today I hope to finish the wiring. Next weekend I will start on the physical side of the grabber.

Aussie Battler will need some reinforcing from the looks of the Sydney sportsman entrants.

Slowly building. Ignore the duct tape.

Everything has been rebuilt a few times trying to overcome previous issues. It is 5.26 kg with all components at the moment. Bracing will be added to make it stronger.

This is the start of the spatula. The last build of Aussie Battler kept tipping over forward while trying to pick up another robot.

I have cut out a few different attempts before this. At the moment, I think this is working out. I will have to cut part of the slope off the sides to comply with the no wedge rule as it is more than 1/4 the width of the robot.

The metal takes the weight to just over 8 kg. Glen will flip this think into orbit at this weight.
