There was a disused active cable that may have been shorting Marauders electronics when it was closed up and ready to battle.
There will be a lot of rebuilding going on under Marauders shell before the next event.
The arm survived satisfactorily during the event. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

The flips on BeatBoxer was awesome! Half way to the roof! Cannot wait to see it going at the next event. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Due to my poor preparation, Alex was only able to get the smallest part of the tip under BeatBoxer. This gave about 100 mm of lift before BeatBoxer slid off the end.
Marauder had better be much improved for the next event or Alex might trade in his dad. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

The broken plastic try that was the base of Marauder weighed 831 g. Everything that was on the base will now be suspended from the shell. It was already more than half a kilogram under weight. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Marauder now has motor mounts ready to install. They weigh 44 g each. They need a day or two for the glue to go off properly and then they will be ready for testing.
All of the contol components will be positioned after the drive is complete. Next weekend should see Marauder complete and ready to play. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Is this a Prancing Queen drive setup under the angled shell? _________________ Get Some!!!

The motors and gearboxes and wheels will be in the same position as they were. The only difference is they are attached to a poly mount that is glued to the shell rather than the tray that used to run under Marauder. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

I would put some tek screws into the poly from the shell as well as glue is an unreliable thing to use _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Marauder's CO2 bottle holder is glued in and seems happy. The glue is builders bond. I will remember the tek screw advice incase the glue doesn't hold up to battling. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Marauder drove happily yesterday. It has been completely rewired. The old harness had been in three different versions of Marauder.
The mixer died during the rebuild. The mixer probably was physically damaged. At least they are cheap.
Marauder would still benifit from a higher standard of batteries. Nick, OC, has reported on some SLAs that might be suitable. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

You could buy 3 x 7.2v 3000mAh NiMH Batteries off Ebay for around $30 each and you could run Marauder off 21.6v for only 1.1kg of battery weight.

You are right. Nicads and NiMH batteries give higher power to weight ratios. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Marauder is still having a little problem with a motor sliding sideways on it's mount causing the wheel to rub.
Marauder's flipping arm is too short. Size does matter.
The gyro helps particularly when driving in a straight line and having one side of the bot scraping on crap on the floor. The gyro also helps not to waggle as Marauder pulls out of a sharp turn. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Marauder now has vent holes through the top armour to allow the top of the ram to push air out more freely. This might make it move a little faster.
The motor mount has had a little piece of aluminium placed accross it under the bolts. It is hoped this will stop the motor from sliding. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
