Proposed Marayong Rosters
I could have put this in the other series 2 topic but i think it needs its own discussion specifically concerning my proposed rosters, and not just general stuff.
Jeff and Glen briefly had a look at these a week or so ago, but I'll put them up here for a more detailed study by all. I tried to put them up in the photos section, got 1 up but the rest were too big.
Ok, here's the basic idea. The rosters have 2 principles.
1: If you lose your first match you're not out of it. You must fight all other losers from the first round until there is 1 robot, always 1 robot, left from the losers. This winner from the losers bracket then has redeemed their initial loss, and joins the winners from round 1. And the competition continues.
2: There can't be a bye into the grand final. If there's only 3 bots in the semi finals, then the loser from the previous round fight to be the 4th robot in the semi finals. Thus the 2 winners from the semi finals go into the grand final, and the two losers fight for 3rd/4th.
Those are the two principles. The rosters also use byes when there is odd numbers in a round. Basically there's no reasonable way round this without adding a lot more complication and more fights. More fights means more time.
Another thing i should mention is when you are looking at the them it might seem strange when the losers fight till there is only 1, when it would be less complicated to take to top 2 from the losers bracket. The reason the losers fight till there is 1, is a fairness issue. That robot has earn't a redemption, and is treated as if it were a winner in the round it lost in.
Ok enough explanation, I'm sure I've forgotten something, but I know people will ask if they are unsure.
The roster goes left to right, just read the top line. The winners and losers from each round go different ways.
Enjoy. (if the links work )
