well i think a big problem is people travelling long distances to get here and also people are just not alive in the morning

im sure this wont suit some people but how about this little proposal,

we start mid-day sort of time and finish at night? itll give people a chance to get there on time and have there robots finished (well more so than normal..).

im sure this may not tie in with many peoples life styles but a proposal none the less.

I captured 6 matches including the melee last night. There is something wrong with the melee (a 1 Gb AVI file) but the others seem OK.

Cobra vs Plan B: Easily the most exciting match of the day, brought to you in enhanced sparkovision Smile http://203.221.217.82/Cobra_vs_Plan-b.wmv

More vids tomorrow Smile

i will try and get the mdf cut for the arena wall this week, as after round 1 i guess it is and issue Very Happy .......not sure about anyone else but i got massive dig in and drag off the floor ....but russell did mention knocking down the joins ........but ill have to raise the clearance on both robots ...so are we going to have a time schedule set out before the 2nd round ,so we can get used to it ......and be prepared ,maybe a couple of dummy events to see what various time is needed to achieve a day of battling for about 12 to 14 robots Very Happy

Hmm, mdf walls when plan b has already left a gash in the concrete-filled steel... I could imagine replacing it constantly! Maybe tough rubber would work better? Anyway, i noticed the floot probs too, and could have won against el b because of it (if i wasn't so nice! Very Happy ). Is it possible to flatten it? Confused

Regarding time;
when do we want to finish? may be more the point.

With 12 robots, starting about 10:30, 11:00 with 40/45 minutes lunch, 15 minutes between bouts, we finish about 4:30.
With 20 minutes between bouts it`s about 5:30.

So;
15 mins; 4:30or
20 mins: 5:30?

Well, of coarse, we all would like to aim for 15min, but people will always have probs, so i may add a little too much stress on people, especialy if their in the semi and grand final. I'm fine with it though! Very Happy

I would go withthe 20 minute interval - it gives competitors with repair problems more of a chance and still lets them watch other matches.
