Micro IBC

Just a thought, are any of you guys developing a smaller version of the IBC for use in antweights, sozbots and beetleweights? You could make it smaller and simpler by taking out some of the less needed functions such as the "reverse function". Just a thought. Very Happy

The reverse (assuming you mean "flip") function is a few lines of code in the microprocessor, and adds nothing to the weight or size of the IBC.

The easiest ways to make it smaller would be to remove the low voltage switchmode power supply, which would mean it would have to have at least 14v input to operate on (not always practical in an ant/soz),

or change some more of the components to surface mount, which would make it much harder/ more $ to repair if it got blown up

or reduce the current handling capability by removing the heatsink and going to surface mount or integrated fets,

but theres really not much point in doing any of that since there are already some excellent controllers available in that size range like the scorpion.. http://www.robot-power.com/products/scorpion_info.html

Oh, Ok. It's just all the ones I could find were american, and it's a shame australians haven't developed a similer product. I'd prefer to ship from australia, that's all.

The exchange rate is pretty good right now. There should be no duty when the FTA comes into force.
