In my experience, Lousy. Sad

A pity, because its quite a good game otherwise.

I read on a few forums that some people seemed to manage to get it working ok, but myself and a bunch of other people had plenty of trouble. Bots jumping randomly from place to place, sudden damage out of nowhere, the two programs disagreeing over who won and all sorts of odd behaviour. Tried it on DSL, Cable and event direct Lan Link gave occasional trouble.

If anyone knows of a way to make it behave let us know, itd be fun to play against some real people instead of the fairly easy to beat AI's in the game.

I've played on Gigabit LAN with RA2 and if you have more then 2 players you experince mega lag...... We found that if you made it so no one could enter a spinner with more then 3 hammers and 1 motor it reduced the lag quite a bit. It seems when you daisy chain components and have large amounts of spinning mass, the games physics engine has a bit of a heart attack...

The small mini tournament I held at one LAN we had minimal spinners and I won the comp with my flipper bot, Infranor. The tournament on had one lag session and that was when two robots became lodged in parts of each other. I'll have to re-install the game and rebuild my bots, but I'm happy to take anyone on who has ADSL that is 512k minimum. Only rules are standard RA2 version 1.0 with no mod packs or hacks.

No prb Archer.
