Ah, theres your problem, you're supposed to go on TV and tell people that God needs their money to save them.. he doesnt give handouts, he just accepts donations (tax deductible bribes) for access to the ol pearly gates.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. thats the biggest pile of crap i have heard for a long time Brett.
Being a religious man myself i know a thing or two about the matter and that is wrong.
That is what i call the "simpsons church attitude" which is completely opposite to pretty much everything that is true. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Yeah well i wont get fired up bout it or anything.
Just one thing mister aaron, dont u EVER even include christianity and war into the same sentence as its just the extreme ideots that cause wars. Goodness the bible says not to go to war and love each other etc so thats wrong right there.
Ok now thats over so what u using for the crushing mech. a 1kg walking crusher has been built and has something like 80 kg crushing force or something. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Sounds cool Chris. I'm looking at making a small version of Tough As Nails using my 1mm Stainless steel i have. Say stuff used on Sharpshooter The drive motors I'm using are requiring some funny controllers, So I need to try to get or build some controllers....

Actually, its probably my fault for starting that...
But I assumed that people would get that I was talking about "Televangelists" and their cable-tv "God needs your $9.95 Tax deductible donations, and we'll offer up a prayer in your name" (it doesnt sound right unless done in a corny mid-western american accent) ploys, rather than the bearded guy in the sky..
Either that, or we can settle it in the civilised way pardner.. Bots in the arena at dawn.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

Oh u meant televangelists. Dont get me started on them. They are as phoney as they get really.
I thought u meant christianity as a whole being like that.
I apologise then Brett as i misunderstood. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

Not all people who preach on tv are stereotypical cons. Dad puts a program to air from his church. It mainly goes to poor countries in our region. It looses money. Donations would have to be for registered charities to be tax deductable such as feeding orphans. There are definatly cons out there and I don't like some peoples style of asking for money, but not everyone should be tarred with the same brush.

*Spockie waves his Admin Wand +1 and magically transports flame wars to the off-topic section* (and out of the Ants section).
