hey glen,
i may know a way to get u back on msn.

go to www.e-messenger.org and enter your hotmail details and it brings up your hotmail contacts and stuff to chat although its a little different than normal msn.

I use this at school to chat and stuff to classmates actually during computer class.

Oh, by the way... I would like to thank Jeff for such a good day. (it must have been hard work to construct a robot arena in your garage!)

Just thought I should express my thanks. Very Happy

Your`e welcome Angus! A team effort putting the arena together made it easy!

Hey Nick, do you have a video ready yet of Sorry vs Plan B? I`d like to study it due to a bit of controversy (No thanks to a pair of posessed teenagers stuffing around with the vote) and then reopen the can of worms; "judging criteria"

Also the "Multi bot" issue, to be or not to be?

By pure coincidence, I do have another video today. Its not the one you wanted, more a Director's Cut:

Cobra vs Sorry : http://203.221.217.82/Cobra_V_Sorry_2.wmv with 2 camera angles and music

I will work on the Sorry vs Plan B video tonight

Here is the contentious fight viedo:

Plan B vs Sorry : http://203.221.217.82/Plan_B_V_Sorry.wmv

Low res version: http://203.221.217.82/Plan_B_V_Sorry_L.wmv

This vote rigging is bigger than the Ukraine incident - we will have to stage the whole event over! Very Happy

if all these people knew at the time why did nobody say anything?
the first vote we heard was we won 3-2?

@nick could you send me the unedited vids?

dads suggestion is that the balls are handed out *before* a match to judges.
my thaught is that then both parties in the round then supervise the voting process. (since its anonymous so that should be ok) that way theres no arguments.
the process would go something like
balls handed out, compeitors see who has them and all is well
*fight*
compeditors take bots out of ring and safe them (pull cover off disconnect batteries make sure theres no shorts kinda thing), Judges also get to look at the bots and ask questions etc during this time.
compeditors and judges go over to voting spot (great setup there btw Jeff works well)
compeditors watch the voting
votes are revealed (with dramatic pause)
round is decided

i personally think there should be some kind of "qualification" or some such not sure how you do that though. ashton isnt "one of us" and seems to have no idea what the sport is about but by the same token there are many spectators who are quite capiblle judges. How does one define robot geek as a testing criteria ;->

something like a jury setup perhaps, each compeditor is able to refuse a judge? (the "alternate" then gets "called"?) this should help with grudges and help stop friendly votes.
I dont think we are at the ice skating level yet and the yes/no of the current system works well.

Now as far as i know no builder/s feel any animosity towards another of a level high enough that it would impede their "professional" judgment but i can see a time when it will happen, especially as the sport grows so having some kind of setup in place now should make for a smoother future.

who was ashtons "little friend" anyway, he was trying quietly to take some of our wheels which we were none too impressed by. We often bring a fair ammount of equipment and some of our future bots will require that to be some pretty expensive stuff, I know Chris and Nick both have a fair bit of top line gear too and for the smaller guys any theft would be pretty devistating. I have no fear leaving that stuff laying about and lending it out with all you guys but its that paticular kind of spectator that makes me nervous.
