A great thing about our arena is that once folded up it just leans against a wall and takes up little room. _________________ Adelaide Robot Combat Organizer.

Matt has 2 young kids he thinks will be involved..
2 more Vics here. After seeing the ant weights at Maker fair in Adelaide today my 10 year old is totally committed. We nearly ran robot building workshops last summer for her and friends, so maybe there will be some extras there too. But defiantly us two.

Facebook Group?
Hi Rotwang,
Tried to PM you but the msg doesn't seem to come out of the Outbox. What Facebook group is it? I've joined the Robowars Australia on FB but I'm guessing you are describing a different group?

Vic Ant Builder Meeting
Let’s see if we can get the ball rolling.
Vic Ants builder meeting 4pm Sat 25th Nov, Uptown Cafe Bridport St Albert Park, Melb.
If you can’t get there but are still interested please let me know - I’m trying to gauge interest before ordering the Polycarbonate and electronics for the Arena.

Something abought being carefull what we wish for, Should empty out my PM folder, its probably full of ancient stuff.
It looks like its going to be an adventure and your arena is going to get some use . Lights and compensation? might work out.
Clubs not my thing but if someone wonts to do it so we can have insurance for public events all good. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

Just in case anyone is reading this thread and looking for Vic Ants - lookup Melbourne Combat Robotics on Facebook. Focus is currently on Ants and with regular events throughout the year.

Gary are you coming along to the Ant meet on the 17th March? I was hoping to catch up with you to see what I’m in for with a feather

Planing on being there, can bring some feather parts for show and tell. Are you interested in sportsman or open class. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

Thanks Gary. I was looking at the Sportsman class just purely on Steve M's event in May which looks like its limited to Sportsman. I've picked up a few feather parts from BotBitz to get going and have a plan, but still have a lot of newbie questions like how do you get big LiPo batteries on a plane, link/switch expectations, what happens at the event etc. I look forward to catching up, see you on the 17th!

I have never flown with a robot so probably need to check a few things with the frequent flyers for all the tricks there. AFAIK you allowed 100 MWH per person so no worries running a feather and that goes in your carry on. Any thoughts on type of weapon in your sportsman? _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.
