@Glen thats good to hear, we booked there a few weeks ago and were surprised with the price! It was $450NZ (~420 AUD) for the 3 of us for 3 nights.

As a side note away from hotels, approximately how much time can we expect between a robots matches in a fight session?

Thanks Steve!

Sorry to keep bombarding you with newbie questions, but what size is the arena and what is the floor made out of (looks like wood)? Our bots are pretty much ready to go, just need to get some driving practice in an area the right size Confused

Looking good.

I have an updated schedule plan.
For feathers
- 3 round robin
- 8 Robots to finals
- Single elimination.

For Sportsman
- 4 round robin

I am working on a fine grained draw.

No welding area on site. For grinding will see if I can sort out something. We should be able to do welding off site during the day (aka ericas shed) which is 5min drive down the road.

Will be access from 7:30am both days if you need access to the pit area. And there will be free onsite parking.

There is also a dedicated charging area that is separate from your pit area for fire reasons. It would be desirable if batteries are removable for charging but we will see how we go on the day.

Official email to all builders coming soon. I just need more hours in the day.

As usual, Gary and crew could run an event all by themselves.. Smile
How he keeps so many Robots running I dont know. 2 was hard work for me !

And this ladies and Gentlemen is *why you test and practice well in advance. Driving practice and debugging *before you hit the arena is what makes the difference between a contender and a player.

What I want to know, is where did you find that much open floor space in the workshop ? Wink

Virgin baggage allowance seems to be lower than I remember. Can I borrow some tools off someone? I need 2 shifter spanners, metric hex wrenches and a long & short philips head screw driver.
If the answer is yes the Misses can bring a change of clothes.

As always I am sure there will be those tools and many more that we are all happy to share.

I think change of clothes is more important.
