SA ant weight bot fighting.

Me and a few mates have gotten together to form a small group and starting some ant weight bot fighting in SA. There isn't any set dates or anything as of yet (about once a month). If anyone is interested plz pm me or post.

We will be expanding to beetle weight as well very soon.

Hey James good to hear. Don't think there is too many other members down there at the moment but might be able to make it down for a comp at some point.

You still looking at running these? I'm ordering a GreenAnt kit as a project to put together with my son, with the plan to slowly also build a featherweight sportsman. I'm also thinking about making a beetleweight bot as well as I have some motors that seem suitable.

first scored fight.

we are still doing ant weight bots and planning to start having regular matches once a month.
once we have finished designing and upgrading the ring we will be doing beetle weights (requires enclosure for spinners)

Thats a nicely made arena and bots. Smile

They look like they could do with some "Expo" (Exponential Response Curve) programming on the steering channel though. Very twitchy in the steering.. do the radio Txs have Expo or Curve on the steering ? It would make them much easier to drive.

Thanks, the Green one is mine.

I made it from 3mm Lexan polycarbonate folded up. Got the stuff as off cuts from my work. Not sure where you can buy it from tho.

Cool guys. Good place to start.

Don't be afraid to add some things to the kit. Like forks to stop it tilting forward when you lift and a scraper on the front.

would be great to have the print files then I could do some 3d printing mods.
currently designing a completely different bot now though.

there are some internal mods to the red one to make it roll over better.

To keep everyone informed with what is happening with the bot fighting in SA. Where currently looking for a reliable place to do our bot fighting.

We have now got a couple of spare bots for anyone that's interested in trying it out.

With the arena where currently automating the pit and putting a timer on it with a count in.
