Great matches last night.

Last nights line up was:
Pico bite vs amber ant
Force vs dynamo

Back ups:
Blue botbitz bot
Green devil
Blue dynamo

First up was pico bite and ant. Spinner against wedge.
From the start pico bite had operational difficulties this was amplified
After a few heavy hits from amber ant.
Giveing a swift victory to amber ant.

Second was the force vs dynamo. Tracks on tracks.
Was a tuff 3 rounds with the dynamo just managing a victory.

The finals
Dynamo vs amber ant
Dynamo didnt stand a chance going down quickly with out a single win.

Well done amber ant.

The rain of the dynamo is over!

With most bots still fuctioning we did a couple of free for alls.
Videos will go up in the next few weeks.

Special thanks to Chris for providing the arena, getting the timing system going and a venue.

Thanks to Chris for hosting, my lad and I had an awesome night. It's a pity (but not necessarily surprising) that Picobyte had so many issues, but I still had a hell of a lot of fun. I'm already working on it's redesign though - next time it might actually manage to finish a bout!

I have started designing a spinner bot. Even with a 3d printing I have already got a weight issues.

Man they where fun fights. Cant wait for the next one.

Planning to do a 6 rounds (1 a month) with trophies at the end.
with 3 match types:
solo 1v1 (first round randomly picked opponents)
teams 2v2 (teams random or picked)
ffa (all vs all)

Rounds are still best of 3 except the ffa that will be first to 3.

Bots and operators will be registered for each so no swapping occurs during events.
substitutes will be considered at a cost.

Points:
first 6, second 5, third 4, forth 3, all other positions 2 points. no attendance 0
worst 2 scores are removed. (so its ok to miss two matches and not affect the score)
in the event of a tie a bot fight will deside the victor. (best of 3).

These rules are not set in stone and plz if you like to change any just say im just loosely relating this to racing rules.

Awesome work with the videos Chris, thanks for doing that.
Owen would love to see the 3rd bout between The Force and Orange Dynamo (where he manages to push him in the pit), any chance you could post that?

James, not having done any racing (and being a bit brain dead after work today) I'm struggling to get my head around the structure. Are you proposing an ongoing series of monthly events with the points adding up over time, or separate monthly events with a winner being determined each time? While the first would be epic, I'd actually lean towards the latter for a couple of reasons. Firstly it'd make it easier for new people to join in through the year, and secondly (and maybe more selfishly) I'd rather be able to drive different bots, I'm really enjoying coming up with ideas and building them, then dealing with their different strengths and differences.

I have no issues with the points structure and I really like the different match types, especially the idea of some with teams.

so yes points over time for a season but also have a winner of that round (like we did last time). might make up some cards or something for that. gets to expensive to do trophies every meet though. and there is nothing stopping us doing bouts with different bots. maybe we should change bots at every round to keep things interesting and just no changing during a round.

Nothing is set in stone just though i would get the ball rolling on a competition.

I also have so many bots sketched down on a note pad that i want to build.

its getting to a point where i have to say no, and keep going on my feather weight.

I will have 2 Dynamos for other people to use if they want to have a go.

Here you go Steve.
Sorry for the bad quality, I didn't notice the poor resolution until after I uploaded the video.

The GoPro software must have resented me knocking up a video this late, haha!

not sure on the exact date as of yet (being holidays been hard to organise).

If you have access to a 3d printer there are designs on the internet for ant-weight shells. (to get a quick run about).

feel free to contact any of us by PM if you have any questions.
