Quadcopter racing

Hey guys

I think some of you might be interested in a new sport called FPV racing, which combines high-tech quadcopters with high-speed racing.

See https://fpvracing.tv

We have regular racing meetups and an upcoming state championships in Brisbane. There's also a national championships scheduled for the end of the year.

Check out the introductory guide to FPV racing at https://fpvracing.tv/guides/beginners (it's a work in progress).

Please let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions!

Cheers

I would be interested in this.
I have a F330 that I fly once or twice a week during lunch breaks and have just got together some FPV gear for it. If there is some serious racing going on I might need to look at changing to a 250 frame at some stage.
how many guys do you think will be racing in June?

We usually have around 20 people show up to our regular meetups, so I wouldn't be surprised to see at least twice that number register to compete at the state championships. We'll be opening up registration shortly.

Hey Guys I'd be interested once I've get/built my quad! it's in the mail....here is a list of what I have so far, full kit + a few spares, decent 5/12volt filtered PDB, naze32.

I was planning on using the 6 Channel Orange DSM2 TX w/DSMX Satelite RX which from what I have read it's doable with the Naze32 wii for fly by sight, However as there is an extra 2 channels on the RX I'd like to put a 5.8 FPV cam on/in it and tilt it with a servo. Having watched a shit ton of youtube videos/reading Forums so I have a fair idea of what is required FPV side of things.

Question :- There are auto tilt/level functions and manual up/down servo setting types, either way assuming I have the goggles or ground station LCD screen connected to the 5.8 TX and want to move the camera using the Orange TX via a servo operated by the TX as shown here --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL6GuzjymYA

Which switch/channel on the Orange TX ( HK sent a Mode 1 so when I got it, I moved the gimbles over and changed in software operates as a Mode 2) left all the switches alone, having said all that what channel do I need to use? so I can flick a switch and have the servo move say 45degrees up or down or swap between the auto function as described. Any help would be greatly appreciated, many Thanks in Advance.

Cheers Tim Very Happy

edit:- I may not be to compete just yet, working on getting a reliable platform setup first.
