UP plus 2... don't waste your money Shocked
It's not really bigger, the total perf size is 140, but if you try to print to that, you hit the clip things that hold it in place, rather than safely limiting it in software like the mini so you don't hit the rails. You do lose a little height though, but it doesn't come close to justifying the 2X price jump. Laughing

There you go then Smile

Mini's for all!

I'm currently working on adaptor rings for speaker boxes to fit larger speakers to a smaller opening. They ended up being 135x135, so i printed them in three pieces and made pegs and holes to join them together. Works great as long as they are oriented along the z axis, other directions dont print quite accurately enough to be a push fit afterwards unless you make them quite large

You can get the fits nice its just a matter of software.

I am keen for some beetles maybe late April. I have Whirlwind which only needs a battery AFAIK.

Perhaps we need to catalog all our bots that we can get running in less than 2 months time and then plan an event around that? I can get two feathers running and perhaps a sportsman. If I can figure out how to balance it's drum, I can have an ant going as well.

I can have Catastrophe, Das Boot or Hammerhead running on fairly short notice, and if we're doing ants I can probably whip some 3d printed garbage up fairly quickly also.

Well I have a beetle in a box somewhere which just needs a battery, and my ants around. Could potentially have some form of feather running in a while. But don't have a lot of spare time over easter or a particularly setup workshop just atm.

My closest would be NC assuming I can unmelt the dewalt.
I'm a ways off having another beetle although the idea is appealing to me.

WELL, can do feathers / sportsman at jeffs, or we can do beetles at Andrews workshop then scrap the arena up the road Razz assuming the polycarb isnt completely opaque now.

Im up for all 3, would like to make something new :>

Get that new flipper working and then you have something to bring over to the UK next year Wink

I will start working on Scissorhands and will find a guest driver.

@Jake: which model DeWalt is it? I have some 'new style' spares I'm not using.

Definitely! 12 years without a holiday, might have to make it happen next year Very Happy

So what class is everyone keen for, beetles at andrews or full on feathers/sportsmans at jeffs if the arena is still up (hope so haha). I'll provide robots for whichever.

I am all fired up for featherweights and if I can get Scissorhands running OK, I will devise some way to select a guest driver for it. If Jeff is OK with it, I have the time to tart up the arena up during week days and maybe fix up the lighting.

Hmm, perhaps I should hand Scissorhand's controls to Jeff for the event? Nice compensation for invading his house...

Sounds good i think we could have 6 robots without too much fuss Smile One of the guys at work definitely wants to give it a go too i reckon.

Have to try get in contact with him again. hopefully he hasnt turned the arena into a snake enclosure yet Laughing

That's excellent. Perhaps we can work out a format for giving new builders a demo of existing bots? Throw in some e-waste with Demon or Scissorhands and watch a printer get destroyed - that would have to raise enthusiasm for new guys.
