Titanium, waterjetting and welding sale
Hi all,
I had to order much larger sheets of titanium than I really needed and I can offer other builders a great deal on the spare areas. There five rectangles up to 224 by 269mm in 4.064mm sheet and a 396 by 132 rectangle in 2.54mm sheet.
The deal is:
You have to buy the whole rectangular piece; I will work out the cost per square mm and give you a 20% discount.
You can get the piece shipped back to Sydney for a flat $5
If you want, I can negotiate with Whyachi to waterjet anything you want into the rectangle at their cost price. You will need to use Paypal to send the fee to Whyachi.
I can also negotiate to have various pieces welded. You will need to use Paypal to send the fee to Whyachi.
If anyone is interested, I can post all the various sizes and costs. This could be a great way to get a complete beetle chassis, internal featherweight parts, or just a cool titanium widget.
.

Yep, DXF is best and you have about 2 weeks to send designs. I will post all the sizes later today.

Just remember that a pretty anodised titanium doodad or widget makes a great present for the missus (if she's a total geek, that is).

Sorry for the delay, the 2.54mm rectangle is 138 by 408mm.You can go right up to the edge and its good practise to leave about 3mm between individual parts.
The rectangles on the 4mm sheet could potentially be combined so I will double check my own parts fit and then post a DXF file so you can get the big picture and more flexibility.

Here is the link to the 4mm DXF file:
http://www.nswrfc.org/Nick/4mm_ti_sheet.dxf
The actual thickness might be a tiny bit different; I won't know until the material arrives at Whyachi.
Rectangles 3,4 & 5 can be joined to get larger parts if you want; leave rectangle 4 as-is and lengthen 3 or 5 if you want to combine rectangles.

Hi all,
The cost for the 4mm Ti sheet works out at 15.0856379 cents per square centimetre after the 20% discount (the entire sheet cost $700.75 )
sheet 1 = $52.48
sheet 2 = $24.96
sheet 3 = $70.96
sheet 4 = $90.63
sheet 5 = $33.36
The cost for the 2.54mm Ti sheet works out at 0.092543263 cents per square centimetre after the 20% discount so the 40.8 x 13.8 piece is $57.92

I wouldn't mind one of them.
I'm only really after bits about 20x60mm in size _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets
