Sportsman Antweight Event - QLD

I was considering running a few Sportsman Antweight Comps this year in order to encourage people with the new Green Ant Kits to participate. I am wondering if there is interest in this from other members?

We would need about 6 robots to even consider doing this. It would be sponsored by BotBitz and may have prizes attached. Would have to go through the rules but would be no spinners and require an active weapon.

Would people be interested in kicking this off early this year? I was thinking of hiring a community hall in Brisbane. Probably fairly early in the new year.

Regards

Steve

I am off in March and with the Feathers on the 1st of Feb. Would anyone be interested in maybe the second weekend of Jan. Perhaps the 11th? This gives 3 weeks until the Feather event.

I am moving around this date but should be able to get one day where I can do this.

Shane, start a build thread and let us know what you are building, if you want to.

The sportsman rules with the no spinner part is that a speed limit or are all spinning weapons banned? I was thinking of a drill bit on the end of a botbits 30:1 gearbox. Could that be too unsporting to a 3D printed robot?

Will have to work out exact ruleset when I get a bit of time this week. But I don't really see any issues with a drill bit.
