Ok, I spent some time sorting the video clip collection, and its now over 7 gigabytes ! (nearly two DVD-R's full)

If anyone wants a copy, I'm up for trades if you have any video footage that I dont, or if anyone who doesnt have anything to swap, then I'll send a copy of both discs for $10. That will cover the discs and postage. PM me for my address or bank details as appropriate.

Tim, I'm burning your copy of them now, and they will go in the mail tomorrow..

Just had a brainwave.
If people don't have a burner they can upload their favourite clips to WinMx. This would mean people can download them when they want and it is easier.

If you want to use WinMx the just search it on google, easy downloads of videos, songs, pucture and a whole lot more.

dosent quit work with dvds though there too big.

It should work with small clips but dosent the other person you are downloading the clip from have to be online at the same time or something? and those types of programs let other people copy stuff of your computer

hmm, 7.4 gigabytes of video clips, that 7,400,000,000 bytes
at a 128kbit upload speed (cable) Thats about 12,800 bytes per second (assuming I dont use my internet for anything else in the meantime)..

So, around 578,125 seconds should cover it, around about 7 weeks of non-stop uploading to send *1* person a copy of it all. Umm, nope I think I'll go with the snail-mailed DVD thanks..

I was just looking around the web and found something interesting. I didn't really want to start a new thread so I revived this one. If you need some ideas for robots look at the type of robots that turned up to the second ever robot compitition. http://web.archive.org/web/19961114035520/http://robotwars.com/photo95.html

How ever the question I want to ask is what the hell is that thing in the picture thats 6 rows down, first from the left? Looks a lot like a flying robot to me. Shocked

3rd row down, 3rd from the left is the first ever feather weight champion.

But you can't go past the first robot on the page. Very Happy

hmm, those r some massive baloons, dont see it doing well in combat though but good for a laugh i guess.

U just gotta love some of the old school machines as the ones around now r cool and all but some of those r the classics like thor, master and blendo etc. More mad max sorta in a way.

Thanks for the link Kerrisons, much appreciated.

Welcome

Hi Archer and welcome to our forum.

We don't usually have DVD's available for sale at events here in Vic and really, you don't need to purchase them for design ideas. There are plenty of free fight video's here on this site and lots of links to others also.

To save you from having to scour this site for various links and vid's - you can go directly to the Robowars home page and click on the little camera icon which will take you to a heap of footage for starters.

If you are unable to download for some reason - PM me with your address and l'll see what l can send you on DVD.
