Well i measured the 3000lb winch like angus has with the expensive LCR meter here and it has 144 microhenries inductance.

For reference an etek is 37 microhenries and that is a known low inductance type. A 150w DC right angle drive is >800.

Good effort tho, hell of an effort really to get that thing built tested and over there with one man behind it. Proud of yah Very Happy

Yeh real issue is just not enough testing.

But it was worth it.

If you are going to fly with a 120lber you can't do it by yourself though. Shipping was going to be $600-700 each way with the time frame I had left so Anthony has paid for his flights just by physically coming along. Excess baggage was $200 but that is only because I couldn't get the one piece of the chassis under 23kg baggage limit.

Pretty good to meet everyone in person and put faces to the people. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Its really very similar to how we are, except bigger.

Well I have 25hrs until I get to Brisbane. Maybe I can do some drawing/sketching.

The organisers have had enough. So there may still be a big event somewhere but just not robogames ever again.

This one actually went quite well. Few good slams against the arena. As you can see with me sitting in the center. I really don't want to drive out of fear of blowing up and being beating by high school girls.

Right at the end stacked em against the wall.

Anthony will edit up some footage this week. To be perfectly honest I didn't record much or take many pictures. I preferred to watch rather than watch through a phone so youtube is a better source than myself.

So without robogames or combots I am not really sure what to do with such a robot. I think it might have to be shelved as far as actually competing goes.

This means that I won't really be working on a new version but I would like to get at least this one to the stage where it works and I think if we get this working in a few weeks we could probably make 2 more and actually have a proper cluster.

From what I saw the 5mm Hardox 450 may be ok. Potentially a little soft, fine in middle weight but as a heavyweight cluster I think it might get torn up. But only one way to find out.

Steve,

Since Single Dragon is a Middleweight, you can compete in Brasil against Touro, General, Besta and Orion, some of the robots that dominated MW class at robogames for the last years.

I know it is short noticed, but the next event will be from July 6 to 9 in São Paulo, and some bots are already registred:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=pt-BR&sl=pt&tl=en&prev=_dd&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.robocore.net%2Fmodules.php%3Fname%3DGR_Eventos%26evento%3D15%26tab%3Dcatinsc

Last two events had 6 and 8 middle respectively.

Besides trophies, winners also receive prices such as tools and/or money.

Additionally we will hold an event at the end of the year, around October or November, I will keep you guys posted!

I will be more than happy to help anyone to compete here, so fell free to ask everything.

Cheers,
Eduardo

Well time to dig this out again. Two options, add extra stage to winches or buy long mags....
