I'm guessing it fought today. I see a curly haired guy waiting in the cue for the smoke to clear.

Yeh little young. But I do look rather creepy right there. Ah yeh first fight went great for first 2 min. But unfortunately one small failure led to a series of things going wrong. Which meant I fried all escs a motor and yeh. Ended up sitting still.

That sucks Steve. (Same questions as Miles and Jules if there is a next fight)
Looks like there was a lot of people so hopefully you had a great day regardless. With that Afro I expect more creepy photos to apear as time goes on. Razz

Anyone who is interested in the 120pounder draw table. This was posted about 10:45 AEST this morning on the Equipe Uairrior facebook page (Brazilian).

Single Dragon is about 2/3 down in the second (lower) group.

So. Quick report from phone.

Lost against zeige (wedge) beat high school spinner lost against zeige again.

Motors are burning out in 2 min. Escs are fine up until the point where they are shorted by a burnt out motor. At that point they tend to fail on. Which can lead to fire.

5:1 gearing is not enough, will start preparing the 25:1 boxes instead. Cool

So are the motors burning out under an unreasonably small load, or do you think theyre overtaxed? Might be low quality resin / insulation etc if the former.

With regards it killing ESC's, is it not worth having some sort of circuit breaker style cutout to cover you in dead-short scenarios? I know no one ever does this but I've often wondered why - apart from it possibly being another failure point due to shock or something. Even an electronic version, external to the ESC - a big transistor, a small inductive loop, or even a fairly responsive temperature sensor - open the circuit when the current spikes?
