QRSC 2013 - Events / Arenas / Times

So guys,

Just thought I would start this thread about what our plans are for next 12 months.

I think the event for the "Nationals" was pretty successful. I still have a few things to tidy up afterwards but I think we should have enough funds left over to fund our public liability for next 12 months.

What would everybody like to do? I am pretty keen not to do any more public events for a while. I think maybe a few backyard antweight ones. And maybe a beetle day. Before building up to a feather Marchish. I am pretty keen to keep it to one class at each event and maybe once a month. I would prefer not to have multiple classes running for the day.

Thoughts, ideas, venues.

Steve

One event a month sounds good.

Sounds good. I won't bring the whole fleet. Maybe just Fire Ant.

Hi guys,

As some of you probably know HSBNE is frantically moving into it's new premises. We're nearly setup there and have made major improvements to the buildings and the site already.

I'd like to invite guys to host an event during the opening for the whole precinct. Saturday 23rd of March. We have an awesome undercover outdoor space for you guys to hold events in now with room for thousands of people. Plus a giant indoor area as well.

This will also be the first time that the markets are running in the area, along with jugglers displaying some of their artworks. So there will be plenty of people around on the day.

If you're interested contact me, pm on here is fine, and I'll help set it up

That's the courtyard, the highlighted area is about 1000m² with direct access to the carpark beside it. The building to the north of it is an approx 500m² warehouse with one area about 200m² that can be used for indoor events.

The awning in the courtyard is approx 200m² and has about 2000w of decent lighting underneath it, so it'd be great for night events. It's like fricking daylight under there with the lights on!

So yeah, whetting your appetite yet?

New space looks great. Will have to come see sometime.

As for the event, I am not sure how available I will be around that time. I have some stuff on in the weeks around that weekend and not sure how much spare time I have to organise it. I also have a few other things which I am working on event wise which may clash.

If anyone is else interested in organising the event?

Also is there any hackerspace bots in existence yet? Or are they still all just dreams...

Dreams that are very low on the priority list atm.

Getting the new space ready is the major one atm, I might raise the idea of building one for March though Very Happy

Tweaked the endpoints to suit Fire Ant. (They were optimised for Stig.) Four months is too long between events.
