Arena for sale

Hi guys - with the downturn in the usage of our arena - we are inviting tenders to purchase our arena. I can be contacted by email at mark@sidetracked.com.au

So then, how much money is in the NSW treasury?

I'd be tempted to throw some funding in myself just to see you guys get out of a shed and get some feathers running again Razz

Although, this is a really, really, really big disappointment for VIC....

I think we have about $1000 and we haven't taken this years membership fee (probably another $500 on that)

Its been sitting there ready to roll for over a year now, and no-one has managed to drum up enough interest from the vic bot builders to even have a half-hearted event, so I dont blame them.

*But*, there is still hope if a budding EO appears out of the woodwork - The Dodgem Car arena is back in and running (Who remembers RoboWars #1 ?) and looking pretty funky - so if something were to happen, Im sure it would a simple matter to polycarb off the viewing area and use the dodgem area again.

I wonder if the Rent-a-Bots are for sale as well ?
( or maybe they are going to move them into Dodgems.)

They might be additional bonus for any potential arena purchasers. Two lightweight bump-n-crash, actuated arm scooter drive robots with arcade-style controls, coin slots, programmable timers and so on.

So, who's going to win the bidding for Australias most famous arena ? Wink

Personally I don't believe the sidetracked arena is safe enough for today's feather spinners... not without a serious upgrade to the roofing structure.

You probably would want to add a poly/alu/steel roof to it to handle high KE Vertical spinners. but that wouldnt cost much to do, and the rest of the design is pretty damn good.

It had some strengthening brackets added around the bottom, and the door-panel was improved and no longer moves at all under impact even from the 30kg rentabots at full speed.

So as far as arenas go, its a good foundation. easily portable, no corners, no wedge-stick-points, maximum viewing area

no idea. you'll have to ask sidetracked.. I knew they were thinking about it, but I dont know what they want for it.

I would imagine the highest bidder will probably get it Smile

If I did not have to move around so much soon I would be tempted but I can not imagine work being happy to be billed to ship it around the country after me Very Happy. The latest budget will not help matters.

GL to any potential bidder. As others have said, It would need a bit of an update but given QLD's as an example would not be a major work and could be done cheap(ish) if you add internal lighting.

But I do not even plan on driving my car cross country. They can (work) ship it for me most of the time.

Anyone know how much the arena weighs out of interest ?

After the weekend I would be interested to know if the rent-a-bots are for sale.
