2012 - Robowars NSW Round 1 - Ants!

Well i hope everyone had a boozey and enjoyable xmas and new year, but its time to get stuck back into the robots again, so dust em off or put those hobbyking orders in right now! Only 2 and a bit weeks to go Smile

Location: My place! 30 Greenway ave Shalvey. Ask for my ph number and ill PM it to you if you need it.
Classes: Antweights only, of the 150 gram variety.
Time: Saturday, the 21st of January. Get there ~ 10-11am and start at 12 at the latest. The date is FINAL!
Cost: $10 at the door to cover the food and drinks, We'll have a BBQ for lunch as always.
What to bring: Robots, chargers, spare parts and specialised tools, i have plenty of regular tools and such you can use as well as powerboards so don't trouble yourself with those. I have plenty of tables this time as well. Maybe bring your own fold out chair though would be great.
Invite only: All on the forum that have a robot are welcome. If you want to come watch just drop me a PM Wink
PRIZES?!: Not sure this time, will try however C:

Will be a fairly standard competition, Round robin as usual but I will be laying out a time schedule, with all the robots needing to be placed in the "holding area" prior to a round starting so the day can go rather smoothly with a minimum of waiting. Ill post up the specific details soon.

So who's bringing what?

It appears that i wont be competing on Saturday, i seem to have had a malfunction while building my bot and cut just a little too aggressivly into my building material. I may still drop by and ask a few questions though.

Indeed! We also have a new gazebo for the arena to go under, so no more crowding around the pits Smile

Just bring a fold out chair or something if you could, i don't think we have enough as it stands.

I also have implemented a simple scoring/round robin system I'd like to try at least once as it works straight off the ipad, thus we dont have to have giant computers about. It's essentially the same as the vic and qld system anyway Smile more details later tonight.

So my shoddy ant is coming together, unfortunately my honkyking order didn't make it in time. So if anyone has some spare 10gram servos, hxt900 or similar, preferrably modded, willing to compensate.

Angus has tons of rotation modded 10 gram ones IIRC. I've got the paper clips and 1mm drill bits here for speed mods Smile

*scurries off to clean some more*
