OK that is one issue which is on its way to being sorted out. Me and Aaron have some plans for finishing it off this weekend. Hopefully I also have time to get my robots ready for following weekend.
I am getting a quote on 1mm stainless. Does everyone agree that pit should be moved to the edge of the arena? Also I will get a servo for the pit as a better triggering mechanism. I am thinking it should be able to lift pit up and down so we don't have to worry about resetting it. Just hook it up to servo tester. Will grab those parts from HK later in the week. I probably won't have time to build it so might be worth somebody taking the arena home with them after the next small event.
Anybody know any local Timber places which would have cheap MDF/ply? Need to start looking at floor.
Other issue is beetle arena. Will NSW arena be fixed and be able to make the trip down? Would be best setup. Other wise I have a few ideas for an area internal to the feather arena which is the other option.
Made out of heavy duty shade cloth with up to 8 layers of material in some sections (due to overlap). It will sit over the existing polycarb roof as a final safety net. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
Its a start. Still need to work out how to attach the shade cloth properly but will do for next event. Beams should be able to take a heap of weight so next step is to add panels on them in the arena.

To attach the shade cloth you could get tie off points sewn into the shade cloth at 1.2m intervals corresponding with each up-right. Any commercial sewing place will be able to do this. A tie down point would also be needed on each post.

Yeh tie down points were the basic idea. The main thing is that you don't really want to pull it tight, or down too far over the viewing area so simply having tie down points is a bit of an issue.
So what i was thinking is we could put two tie down points at each 1.2m spacing. One for inside the arena one for outside. Put that way the distance between them controls the overlap. I am not sure how much this should be yet. So we will need to set it up on the weekend work out exactly how everything fits then go from there.
Also I have the antweight arena in the back of my car. I was hoping to get to it today but that didn't happen. I did however buy a coupler to replace the broken one. It has bird shit all over it so was hoping to clean it off sometime before the weekend.
