Congratulations to Daniel and Aaron. Two dominant performances.

Vendetta, Daniel's robot, arrived in parts after the first round was completed. Daniel built and tested it on the spot. (Yes, we had some tiny hail come through.)

Aaron has really got Scarlet dialed in. It drives well while the weapon is running and also when inverted. Scarlet will be the robot to beat at the Nationals,

Marto made both the ant and the feather finals.

Idea for improving the day for next round.

I think we should attempt to setup the arena the night before. Not sure how feasible this is given that most of us are building stuff and organising things but it would be nice so we could just arrive and get started.

Get confirmed robots the night before and have the draw organised. Might need to work out some method for shuffling with regards to byes, forfeits, ect.

Run fights in 4 stages. Ant rounds, Feather Rounds, Ant/Feather Finals. Limit the switching between classes as we seem to have a few issues maintaining multiple robots at once.

I think we can typically run a 3 round competition with the robots we have and this seems to be the same for both ants and feathers so maybe we should also schedule the time for the start of each round if we predetermine how many we are going to have.

Overall it wasn't a bad day but we don't exactly have a lot of robots. We have however had a fair few people drop past the hackerspace so would be good if we could try and convert some of the interested people. I think if we can get things organised a bit better it would be better for the people coming to watch and make it easier for us to run.

Hey yeah, that will help ,cause we have so much trouble trying to organising our bots between fights.... to the point where we forget to charge them.

This is Rachael from HSBNE (the one with the light brown shirt in the photos above who was running around with a silver camcorder October 15 Very Happy ).
I finally got around to making a video, it's not of any battles (they will come, but I think I missed filming one), but it's basically an information gathering thing for me, since I know pretty much nothing about the robots or the people at Hack Cage 4.
So, I'd like to ask anyone who wishes to, would you please help me out with this?

I kinda need the information before I can start making the battle videos... Thankies! Smile

But I do have to say, my videos will be nothing like the quality of Miles' and Jules' videos, I'm pretty much just getting into slightly more serious filming, so... Everyone's gotta start somewhere, right? Smile

Thanks, everyone.
- Rachael.
