Rocket did well! Never made it to 850 PSI due to the cold, but next time I will be able to get the tanks up to 850. It last twice due to not being about to self right which will be fixed. But it was able to bounse bots off the walls and out of the arena once... I am very happy with it! Smile

Well I am back on the right side of the planet again but I need a little time to work out what day it is let alone what time!
Devastator worked well despite the fact that is now retired. The first fight went about as well as I could have hoped with the fastest KO of the round. I have some video which I will get up later today. But after that things went downhill.
I am not against Dave for his decision to run the round the way he did. I thought the system was good for running a comp in a limited time. It just happens I got the worst-case scenario with the best score from the first round which meant facing last years champ for a place in the top eight. But I was having troubles before that.
My new 20oz tank had the pin valve first stick closed then start leaking and during testing Saturday morning I managed to freeze the tank completely (I could hear a lump of dry ice bouncing around inside it!). That tank is now gone as it was borrowed to increase Ziggys gas capacity and I forgot to get it back.
I will give it to Robotic Death Company guys that they have a great robot in Kilahurtz. It got up to speed before I could get across the arena. I thought I could pin him in a corner and flip him but he just kept spinning up. Eventually my switch broke and I was out.
However I got to talk to many great people, swap e-mails and stick my head into many great robots and learnt many new things. I had a great time and will defiantly do my best to go back next year.

Thanks for the vids.... Well done in the first fight. Devo got nailed by Killabyte, I don't think you really stood any chance there unfortunately. Looks like you had a great time, good on ya!

We will be eliminating 75Mhz transmitters/recievers for combat. All combat teams will be required to use spectrum style transmitters, including sub-lights.

Lol, I intend to buy one too, there is no reason not to, except for perhaps if you already own a normal radio. They work so well, and are cheaper than many 75mhz radios... Smile

The frequency control for the event was handled very well. Every time you wanted to turn your radio on you took your respective frequency clip (each numbered with the channel number) from the peg board and replaced it with a peg with your robots name on it. This bright pink peg has to be on your radio before you are allowed to switch it on. If the clip you want is not available then you know that someone else is using that freq.
All 2.4GHz radios had green clips to show they were not using a 75MHz channel.

The only problem with this was that the insect class guys kept taking the frequency clips and not returning them.

Here was a good fight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FzaB3FYgIU

But apparently the Brazilian guys weren't very friendly. My brother said they turned up their noses and turned their backs to him every time he tried to talk to them. Really makes me want to build a middle weight.
