So was just reading the thunderpower lipo care guide for when my big lipo rocks up, Interesting that it recommends that you not leave their high C packs fully charged for more than 1 hour! WTF! (other places say no longer than a week) and store them at 50% charge for any long period of time.

Anybody know the reasoning behind this? Can't say I've noticed degradation on any of my lipos leaving them full charged but i won't be doing it from now on >.>

lipo's get damaged any time they get charged to more than ~4V or so so i presume keeping them in a charged state would potentially allow that process to continue.

I think its plating out metallic lithium or some such.

"military long life" cells get charged to 3.92V
I wish I could set the charge voltage on my chargers, the extra capacity is like 10% but it will shorten the cycle life quite drastically.

(anything other than A123 has like a 2 year calendar life though so you do have that as a tradeoff)

Well I can vouch for that every lipo we have had has shit itself ...whether its over charge under charge or leaving it on... till it swells up....the a123's just keep going! The only time we have had one blow up was when we weren't balancing it. We love em we plan to keep using em for feathers.
