Alrighty, now at 49%, cheers to the new dudes and all the others who have already pledged, its heaps awesome!

So far got no bites on any kind of major sponsorship, which is a bit sad/ somewhat expected... Basically I really really need this thing to get over 100% asap. If anyone knows ANYONE who may even slightly be interested please let them know!

Also, please note that I won't be accepting any random newcomer robots on the day, the only way you can enter is through pledging.. it will only be drawn out in a months time, so see it as 'incentive'.

The arena steel work is 90% complete, however now with the GF it's on hold till I come back from Perth, plenty of time to get it done though till the event.

Lastly, pls join the facebook event page and cause some noise!!!! Cool

What is the policy on driver/robot ratio? Can I just give the radio to someone else to fight if I bring 6?

Also are flamethrowers allowed in both classes?

The system will try to avoid team Vs team fights, more than it tries to avoid state vs state as I recall, but it will make a team vs team in preference to repeating a fight.

So yeah, you need to have somebody else drive in that situation.

Ant flamethrowers are fine in the arena as long as Serial Space is OK with it - the floor is steel and I have a giant CO2 extinguisher.

We can flood the ant arena with CO2 easily, so cool that confirms it: Ant flamethrowers yes, beetle flamethrowers no.

All ants which suffer lipo fires will be chucked into a metal sand bucket, lid put on and taken outside for the owner to deal with. Under no circumstances can people desperately try to pull their bot apart while smoking inside the venue, protect your lipos or else! Shocked

ROBOT SERIAL KILLERS CALL FOR ENTRIES -We Need YOU!

This is my last big push till I get back from holidays for the event:

Currently the funding stands at half way with 24days to go. We need this to reach 100%. If your robot has not registered in time, then it will be unable to compete. Worst case, if you're a keen regular builder and 'something goes wrong' and you can't make it, i'll refund your entry.

No excuses not to get on board and make this event so damn awesome that we get heaps of new builders and a free featherweight arena and cash prizes etc etc. Rolling Eyes

We also need more general public to take an interest in this event, know anyone with a keen kid who might want to have a closer look? Pls send them the link.

Cool Expect article in MX shortly...

where to buy a kit

Hi all,

I would like to enter an ant weight and would like to buy a kit from somewhere as I don't have a whole lot of time.

Any suggestions of suppliers or even a shopping list?

Cheers,
Mal.

I would definately getting a pair of ESCheap10's and gearmotors from botbitz if you're rushed for time. Modding servos is the cheapest method but very tricky and i've wasted a lot getting the process just right

For everything else though, you may know of hobbyking? They actually have a retail shopfront in caringbah now so you can pick up a 6ch radio there for only $40. For all the other parts, depends on your design so have a look on their online store and perhaps start a build thread?

All the best with it and hope to see you there! Smile
