That wooden cocking device looks very similar to the huge cog on Das Boot's flipper - is that the sort of thing you are planning?

I just acquired two springs from a garage door - now I'm wondering what to use them for...

I was thinking of the cog from das boot…but the difference here is it has to turn from the centre rather than the edge which half has been cut off. So its more like a trigger mech and has to turn even when the arm has fallen off the edge of it and launched the spring. Haven't actually tested it yet….cause the only spare winch i have in kojack…..so might try to rig something up today.

I was thinking those springs would make good armer against spinners.

Perhaps I'm just not understanding the design, but surely if you used full gear or sprocket and attached the half circle cam to the side of the gear, then the cam can do it's stuff while the gear drives it, while not touching the flipper mechanism.

If you could scavenge large alloy bike sprocket for lightness and use a geared scooter motor like this:

you would have a fairly light & compact drive mechanism that should have plenty of torque.

That's the exact gear motor Farmboy used at Vivid, it's 3kg and the complete opposite of light Razz

It should still be lighter than a winch motor & gearbox? If not, then just go with the winch.

Very similar weight as a winch motor, but it's package is certainly more compact (main reason I used one in FarmBoy).

Yep was going to try a chain scooter combo out but that failed cause i couldn't find all the bits…so I'm going to test it out with kojaks winch…..i think it might actually work to….less chain in the arena the better ha ha Cool

think this is going to be my cheapest bot yet….so far its all stuff I've found at the dump and at home

springs =Dump
25mm box section metal =dump
18v Drills +dump

Im going to need new tz's and winch that will break my no budget recycling fest.

Cool its nice when you get to this stage and you can just recycle things.

Did you ever get those 320A working well enough or was the reverse delay too much of a problem?
