Just got a reply from Matt at the Edge and they seem very keen to help us out with space. That would suit me as I can just walk over from the city. I think this would also make it much more open to anyone just wanting to drop in rather than someones house.
Is say first thursday of every month good for people?
Did we want to try the first Thursday of every month? This would be Thursday the 7th. (2 weeks time) Unfortunately we can't book the space as it is pretty limited but according to Matt we should just be able to show up. I was thinking maybe 5:30-7:30 and if anyone wants to drop in during that time would be good.
My plan for the moment is to take along a few things to show people. Probably a couple of hacked ESCs and maybe the stuff I use to program them so anyone who is interested can see how it is done. And maybe some ant bits such as my B328 - SatRX combo.
Based on that we will need two sheets. Do we have any around polcar around ATM. _________________ Steven Martin

Just get enough for the walls and use a wooden roof
Edge are interested in a display on the 7th of May. Looking for some robots driving around possibly slightly harassing people. _________________ Steven Martin

Down-size your arena a little and make it fit one one sheet - mine looks plenty big enough for ants and just fitted on a sheet. Having a clear roof is great for lighting and photography, don't give it up unless you absolutely have to!
It should be possible to get it out of the one sheet. It will have to have a hinge/join in the roof but yeh it will be all clear.
I have paid for the sheet sho _________________ Steven Martin

Make the join a 'feature'. I'm finding I need a piece of angle across the middle to stop the roof sagging once it has the weight of the light on it. If you have a piece of angle on the roof, its the perfect place for a QRSC logo sign

Acrylic is the most spectacularly crap plastic I've ever worked with. It's only merits is its ability to be cut on low power lasercutters and its fancy colours. It's not really even cheaper XD
PS, it's crap as in at 3mm it'll crack and warp if you look at it funny... _________________ ( •_•)
