Everyone in NSW Must add themselves if they exist on facebook.! Facebook is archiving all the old group formats so this will just test the water, if it gets archived and was going good we'll restore it, if it falls to dust we'll just forget it.
Very Happy

No, don't do it!
Facebook is the embodiment of Hotel California "...you can check out any time you like but you can never leave..."
There are plenty of ways to advance the cause of robot wars.

Open to suggestions ... Reaching other people is pretty hard, and most people already have the facebook account, so it's already too late for them XD

Sorry for the hysterics. I'm down on facebook after watching peoples' futile attempts at leaving it. They got you details forever. But, to the question at hand - how to pull the crowds.
I'm no font of galactic truth, much less tried in battle, but consider - theatrics.
In the same way that theatrical swordplay is more fun to watch than olympic fencing, or schlocky wrestling more fun than true greco-roman, so too must there be an element of fun if we're gonna entertain someone other than ourselves.
Only a half-baked idea, not sure how to implement it, or score it. Maybe let the crowd decide?

If you want to score a crowd you need to host events in significantly more public places.

Try and host an event in a local sporting area on a weekend or similar

Attending an unknown private residence can be mildly intimidating at the best of times.

All good suggestions but nothing new and if you want to go out and organise them then good work. In the mean time if you have a Facebook account contributing to the page might be worthwhile. If you dont then not a big issue but we can rant about Facebook and it's uselessness elsewhere. It's a simple easy task which takes a few minutes and has no cost.

Same can't be said for running a public event.

Marto's got a point, the organising of public events is a must to get more people involved, but takes a lot of effort. We've got the serial space event coming up which will 100% cater for antweights but without a portable beetle or feather arena at our disposal we're somewhat stuck at said intimidating residence. Laughing I'm looking to do some sort of demos and talks to interested parties where possible also, to spread the word. Wonder if hobbyking caringbah would like to put up a poster for us.. So 13th August is the featherweight event, don't leave it till the last moment people Very Happy get building now! -poke- and for the love of god give your robot a test at least a day before the event Laughing

Whats everyone going to rock up with? Definitely bringing demon for some carnage, its been far too long. And my mate is probably going to have his own there made from bits of pieces of my past robots Cool

May i also suggest we try set up an in arena camera or two for some good footage at least to break up the tedium of our regular filming behind the polycarb. Maybe a top down birds eye view? idk. just a thought.

NEED MOAR FEATHERWEIGHT! Mr. Green

June 25th is still a go too. So get them antweights happening Razz
