Prize money overall is confirmed at $1k sponsored by the Edge. Exact distribution is yet to be decided.

Any volunteers to do up judging form or update the wiki for me. Low on time.

Running Order.

So last time we basically threw everyone in as soon as they were ready. This time I would like to make it a bit more ordered. The current plan is to start each round of the division at a set time.

I am currently thinking a Feather round will take about 30 - 45min depending on numbers. The ants will be 30min and the beetles will be 15min. This decreases slightly as things get broken.

So current outline of the day is.

9:30 registration - I want everyone to fill out a short info page on their robots. And we will have a proper weigh in. (If you significantly change your robot you should re-weigh.)

10:00 Antweight Round 1
10:30: Beetle Round 1
10:45 Feather Round 1
11:30 Antweight Round 2
12:00 Beetle Round 2
12:15 - 1:00 Lunch /Kitbot comps.
1:00 Feather Round 2
1:30 Antweight Round 3
2:00 Feather Round 3
2:30 Beetle Round 3
2:45 Antweight Round 4
3:15 Feather Round 4
3:45 Beetle Round 4

Day 2

10:00 Feather Round 5
10:30 Antweight Round 5
11:00 Beetle Round 5
11:15 Antweight Round 6
11:30 Beetle Round 6
11:45 Antweight Round 7
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch / Kitbot Competitions
1:00 Feather Round 6
1:30 Antweight Quarter
1:45 Beetle Quarter
2:00 Feather Quarter
2:30 Antweight Semi
2:45 Beetle Semi
*** Grudge/Exhibition matches as filler ***
3:00 Antweight Final
3:15 Beetle Final
3:30 Feather weight Final
4:00 Presentations / Trophies

Any volunteers to organise new yellow tongue floor?

Also I am going to order some more shirts if people are keen. Just need numbers. I can get some photos of my test one if people are keen. Will be pretty much the same just few tweaks to size and positioning of stuff.

New floor will be donated by Toowoomba Tanks in return for few logos on the floor after painting. Catch is I will prolly have to pick that up from Toowoomba. Not a big issue as I have a better setup to cut/paint it. Then will transport it direct to the Edge.

Hi Marto, can you post some info on the following:

* The rule set for this event (I'm assuming the full RFL rules?)

* Any special tap-out or count out rules?

* for each weight class, will be it be Round robin, single or double elimination?

* From your timetable, it looks like there is at least 1 hour between Feather rounds, would that change if the other rounds went quickly, or can I count on at least an hour for repairs and charging?

* Is there a 'hot works' area where we can use angle grinders, hammers, etc for repairs?

I'm not being picky at all, I am just deciding my strategy and what to pack.

Yes will be RFL rule set.

If you want a count out for lack of mobility you have to ask ref for it.
Will be round robin for all classes followed by single elimination finals.

I hope to keep feathers to the timetable as best as possible. If we run rounds faster we should be able to do more ant rounds or beetles first as they are a bit easier.

Yes there should be a hot works area.

Also new floor is getting there. Not going to paint it as it has resin soaked into the top layer. Will get picture tomorrow so anyone interested can get an idea of the surface.

I just noticed there is no Feather semi-final round in the schedule, while the other classes all have quarter & semi rounds - typo?

Where possible, can the first rounds be arranged so we don't fight bots from our own state?

Yes I missed that out. I have no problem with seeding but would like to hear opinion of other people from QLD.

Its your event of course, but it was a pretty popular option at Robowars and Battleshed.

Hey, just remembering the rules for the last Ideas Festival - will we need electrical test tags for all our mains devices?
