Had a discussion with The Edge. Seem to be able to cater for everything we need. Will post more details later.
Also chasing any photos from the last few events if anyone has anything please let me know. Or put it up on our server. _________________ Steven Martin

Firstly I can't confirm anything yet but the likelihood of some television coverage whether it be news or possibly a tv show segment is looking pretty good.
The definate figures on prizes has not been finalised but we are looking in the ball park of $1k up for grabs over the categories.
The pits area will be double the size it was lastime. And there will also be a big screen with the webcast available inside te edge.
I am looking for other sponsorship as well which may be passed on to teams for interstate flights or as robot parts or possibly bigger prizes. _________________ Steven Martin

I asked this in the other thread but no one replied, apologies if this is the wrong section again, but will there be beetles? NSW is all about the beetles right now
Yes I saw you question but don't really have an answer until I get an answer for my previous question which was how many of you guys are keen to bring beetles....
Here is probably better. I am trying to keep the other thread primarily for announcements and updates. I wish I had mod rights so I could clean them up.
So answering your question, yes there will be beetles. Though I am not going to allocate any prize money to them as I don't know how many we will get and we don't really have an arena for them so they will have to fight in the antweight arena or in a cordoned off section of the main one.
Cool. I'll see if i can find out for you how many NSW beetles might be coming.
with the arena; we currently are fighting in one corner of the featherweight arena ourselves whilst we build our beetle arena, so that gives us a home-ground familiarity

@Brett, Do I need to be admin to edit stickies? Trying to unstick old event so it can slip gracefully down the state specific page and sticky new event in announcements section. _________________ Steven Martin

No, Martos isnt being God-Head -i-fied, cause that would make me god, and being admin difeinitely isnt being god.,. its more like the scene with the old black fella in Bruce Almighty Get out your mop boy.
To Unsticky a Sticky, just edit the first post and change the type flag/radio button at the button of the first post to normal. and it will beging to drift down the list like any other thread.

Nothing final yet. Will order some on Monday. Looking like about $40 for black and $30 for white so haven't decided on which one yet.
EDIT: Additional sponsors have pulled out. So going to have to remove this.
Also working out details for interstate sponsorship. Not finalised yet but looking like $250 sponsorship. 2 places currently available but that may increase if we get more sponsors. I know it won't cover the trip but its a start.
Deal will be that you will need to put in application at the start of November then the edge will decide on who is the best people to give sponsorship to.
Few notes: - Robots must be complete at time of application.
- This will require a video of your robot driving around as well as current picture.
- You will not receive the sponsorship cash until after the event. So if you don't show or try something dodgy you will forfeit your sponsorship cash.
- I don't want anyone bitching about not getting sponsorship. I wish I could give everyone some cash to bring their bots but unfortunately that is not possible.
AFAIK this is the first time this has been offered in Australia so be grateful. Goodluck to all those interested I will have more details shortly. _________________ Steven Martin
