Antweight Workshops - 23nd October

The Edge has asked me to run workshop or two again. So if anyone is interested bookings should be available sometime next week.

Re-hashing kit, making things a bit simpler to better accommodate the kids which the workshops seem to attract.

Cost will be $140 to attend.

Book Here: http://edgeqld.org.au/blog/2010/10/05/robowars-returns/

The instruction document will also be freely available for anyone who wants to build there own outside the workshops.

Update 26th Sept:
- Cost has been reduced to $140
- Parts have been ordered
- One of the parents who I have been working with from the previous workshop (Geoff Cowie) has sent through some preliminary details his updates to tutorial for kit bots which is looking great.

I will be there from about 10am to setup if you guys want to drop round about 11am that would be great. Plan is to get there robots build by 2pm then run some simple comps up till 4pm. Then we can fit in some real antweight battles from 4 - 7pm I think.

Programming radios is all that is left.

All the kits are good to go and the new tutorial document thanks to Geoff looks good.

See you all there

Radios are programmed (one appears to have suffered a broken neck but will swap that out) . Big thanks to Phillip for sending through his programming cable. The kits are in a pile ready to be loaded in to my car.

Now to sleep.... or continue working on other stuff which needs to get done before the end of the week.

Apparently there is still places left so if anyone knows anyone interested feel free to let them know.

Are your radios V2? I still haven't been able to program my V2.

Plan for tomorrow.

I intend to arrive about 9 - 10 and setup.

Workshop starts at 12 and will run through to 4.

From 4 onwards we will switch over to a normal event, style battles until we get kicked out I guess. Edge is open till 8 so should have plenty of time.

And thats all. Out of 6 robots that entered the competition 4 were dead by the end of round 2. Fury Jr and Hellcat Jr were the only two left moving.
